Everyone stopped talking and all eyes were on the tallest man of the whole group- Ryan. His eyes were distant and full of fear but the question remains, what did he see? The captain previously questioning him was already pale. Tension quickly built itself strongly in the air- so dense you could cut right through, but no one dare spoke.

Luis looking around noticed the fear in everyone's eyes so he got close to Ryan and patted him on the shoulder and saying,

"it's OK boy what did you see? what color was it?"
Ryan did not give any eye contact but he started tearing up
"I don't know what I saw. But it was very big and it's eyes practically glowed; it was scary but it was beautiful."

Suddenly commotion filled the room; everybody was asking all sorts of questions and there was more confusion, it was terrifying but it was beautiful? How can something be of two completely opposite things? I was sitting there wondering if my concussion was making me more confused – or did I hear this right? Some of the other guys also confirmed what I heard, and asked themselves the same thing. As the questions filled the room one of the men notice Ryan trying to make another attempt to describe what he saw, he then quickly got up and told everyone to shut up silencing the crew quickly as they all paid close attention to what Ryan had to say.

(Distant eyes) " it was very graceful when I saw it move around us, it was WHITE but the waves were able to cover it so well you would think it was just some sort of fog. It looks like it could fly- I don't think it could since I see it appear and reappear from the ocean. It was when she splashed her tail that the wave that came almost swept us into the water."

Ryan then bowed his head and started to cry. He was done- embarrassed from his tears he began apologizing, Luis stepped in and hugged him trying his best to calm him down. By the end of the his story Ryan was shaking like a leaf; it was the saddest thing to have witness.

The captain then steps in, " Luis can you please take Ryan to his room I think it's best that he gets some sort of rest. [turns to the crew] As for the rest of you! We know there's something out there and we must keep a sharp eye, we won't loose anyone tonight. All right let's get to work we have to get out of here."

The men started moving out of the room quickly rushing off to their tasks, following the captain's orders.

Now seeing how everything was quickly going back to normal I stumble into my room. The captain seeing this doesn't say anything but looked as if he prayed for me to not die.

Luis started to walk Ryan to his room and tried easing him, until he finally fell asleep. With the adrenaline from earlier everyone worked extra hard to get to safety. Later that night after the crew members were bunked in and sleeping, the captain slipped into Luis's room and nudged the old man awake.

"Huh?",

"Shh, Don't be loud old man.",

"what's going on?",

"Luis, he gave the same description you gave years ago. You know what this mean?"

"that we're screwed?",

"Aside, from that -the superiors sent us a suicide mission.",

"That could just be one sea dragon- they don't normally come by here.",

"Come on Luis, those things don't leave they're hiding places like that. They're migrating! That's why the disappearances, the scared village people and the random dead fish, whales and mega squid! All of it making sense now and people wouldn't know unless they see it. Everyone think it's just a really good myth.",

"Mason, we're gonna have to see the witch."

The Captain was hesitant in his response, "You still have her card?"

Without saying anything in return Luis just sarcastically smiles pulling out a small wooden box from under his bed. When opening this dusty wooden box, the captain quickly shined a light to better see the contents in his box without waking anyone else.

The Wooden box was lined with a red fabric and there rested some old letters, a tired looking battle medallion, a dried flower and a photo of a woman. Behind the photo rested the Witch's calling card.

Mason [the Captain] knew it was time for action... He now prayed that help would come his way before it's too late.
