Ch 20: The New World

"What the HELL was that?" the general looked at Luis. 

"That thing almost sank our ship." 

Captain Hunt then ran into the control room, "I need men- NOW!"

The general pointed to four young men and sent them off. Then as Captain Hunt was leaving, Jade pointed out that he was wet. "Downstairs we're letting in some water, after that tussle you guys had upstairs."

Luis then hearing this let go of Jade and ran down the hall catching up with the young kids who were all running downstairs. Captain Hunt was now heaving as he pressed the water out of his hat. Then Jade rushed to attend to Captain Hunt, "Captain! please sit down- you don't look well."

"Madam I can't stay too long the damage must be assessed. [He turns to the stunned crew and general] we barely made it out of this fight. If we face this thing we MUST use all the firepower." 

"Damn! This will be a problem."

"Why?"

"Captain Hunt, right now there are six individuals that has gone to explore this animal's layer with limited firepower."   

"We can't leave them like that- that's SUICIDE."

Hearing this Jade then helplessly turns toward the ex-general, "We must go get these kids-Right?"

"We can't madam, the main ship is already in a compromised state. We will send an alert to these kids to stay out of sight from the beast. But we can't risk another attempt in fighting this."

Jade started to sob in fear that these kids out there will die. Captain Hunt got up and rushed her out of the control room. The general then with now more stern orders started directing the team to leave the area and surface to the closest dock. As this happened communications was already sending out the alert to Little Ellie.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

As the small alert sounded off, the rest of the crew was resting as Kilo supervised the divers from his window. Then Kilo in some annoyance looked up from his view and noticed the small red light flashing in his face. What could this be now?

He turns on the radio, "Go for Little Ellie?"

"THIS IS MISSION CONTROL. YOU GUYS ARE IN DANGER."

"Mission Control! Wait! What's going on?!"

"THE ANIMAL JUST ATTACKED US AND THE SUB IS DAMAGED. WE CAN'T STAY TO HELP YOU."

Everyone else relaxing on board now immediately stood up and got closer to the radio. Now with new worry everyone was talking among-st each other to understand what happened and what to do?

"EVERYBODY SHUT UP. [Kilo then talks to radio speaker] Mission Control what is your instruction?"

"Get the divers out of open waters and make your way away from the trenches. Do you read me?"

"Yes, I read you. Getting divers now, meet you on the surface."

"Good. Keep us posted on your movement. Copy?"

"Copy?"

Click.. 

With the end of that radio transmission there was a sudden uproar of panic and confusion. But again Kilo silenced them to warn the divers of the disturbing news. 

As this is happening simultaneously the two divers were already entering the openings of the trenches with their lights leading the way through the darkness. As R.J rested on one of the rocks leading it way down somewhere the instability of this place shown as the rock tumbled down making the opening bigger. However, despite the obvious danger this definitely opened curiosity.
