A/N Hello again I have my first follower! I am so happy!! Thank you so much I just found out my English project is due next week so I have time to keep writing :) so yeah It has been a very good day and I guess I will publish another chapter because I am in such a good mood ^-^ Happy readings ya'll <3

I woke up with James’ body close to mine it was very cold in the house so it was quite comforting to feel his body heat his head was tucked just above my chest and his hair spiked up in the funniest of ways “time to get up” I whispered to him as I carefully moved from under him so that I was able to get up without waking him I laughed getting an idea, I ran outside and picked up a handful of snow then ran back inside and placed it on his chest he woke up with a sudden yelp and laughed “time to go to work” I said handing him a cup of tea and grabbing my midwifery kit after I chucked my tea I headed out on my bike as I was instructed to come 30 minutes early I biked through the street and parked at the midwifery division instead of the polio ward I raced in greeting some of the fellow midwifes “Morning pam” I said to a girl with short brown hair “Good to see you Anna, Irene and Lucille” I said waving to them as they drank their morning coffee hows the morning Julie” I greeted as I set my supplies down no sooner as that happened we go another call, all day we were out and there was hardly enough hands to handle all the work we were doing as we sat down to eat a lunch I heard a knock on the window a paper was slid through the door “Love you” was the only message when I opened it up I saw golden brown hair swish through the hall as he ran back to work I held it and put it in my lunchbox as I got back to work after attending a 13 hour long birth of twin I went home I suddenly noticed what day it was, a few of the soldiers were coming back home so there was a dance on tonight at the town hall I was greeted by a kiss from James when I walked inside my room I smiled and kissed back wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling my hands through his hair “Good evening” he greeted me kissing me quickly on my nose “did you remember that there was a dance tonight at town hall” I said kissing his nose “yep” he said simply as he straightened his bow tie I grabbed a black dress and changed in the bathroom when I walked out he looked up and down it was a short black dress with a white collar almost with a 1920s style, just a bit shorter I slipped on my trench cost and we ran off to the dance we payed a penny to get in and looked around to see every one of our friends dancing to the slow song playing I stretched then James took my hand and twirled me towards him I grasped my hands around his and we started dancing to the slow waltz.

After quite a few dances we left the town hall. On the corner of the street suddenly he leaned towards me and kissed me it felt as if something had exploded on my lips a warm feeling spread through my body as I started to kiss back feeling shivers down my spine I continued to kiss him then he picked me up and carried me back home while kissing me suddenly he laid upon my bed moving some of my dark hair out of my face and just as I went to pull away as things were almost out of hand a siren in the distance went off I looked down realizing I had no shirt on I found one and put it on I grabbed James and we ran downstairs as more and more sirens sounded getting closer and closer I looked up to see German airplanes right over our heads “James come on their right above us” I screamed pulling him into the shelter I looked around almost all was calm but still there was an eerie silence about the place suddenly at the back of the shelter a heavily pregnant lady clutched her back as she let out a shout in pain I instantly took a look at her then told her I would be right back I looked out the doors of the shelter then when it looked good I ran as fast as I good across the street and up into my room grabbing my kit and running back down the stairs closing up the doors I took out a stethoscope and placed it over her stomach finding the placement of the baby’s heart then got down to work suddenly before I started a light brown trench coat was held up like a screen shielding her from the other people’s view James smiled down at me and continued holding the coat screams echoed through the bomb shelter as I instructed the lady to push after a while I lost track of time but it was most likely around 4 hours before the baby presented itself and 5 before it was born, I tied its cord then snipped hearing it cry was one of the best sounds to hear I wrapped him up in my coat and showed him to his mother then I put him in her arms as James picked me up and hugged me tightly whispering great job in my ear as we sat down and waited for the air raid sirens to finally sound their all clears.

When they finally sounded James picked me up ran me outside and swirled me around in the air no damage had been done to the street so we ran back home I picked up my bag and we walked back inside he resumed kissing me and we fell asleep with our lips still pressed together.

That year we had put up with bombs and pain of loss it was a horrid thought and sooner than later that year lead into the next at times we feared the Germans could find some new way to defeat us but they never did that year moved past and so did the next and the next until August 6th 1945. When the war was brought to the most epic of all climaxes and soon halted to the end of the war.
