Love From The Start Chapter Seventeen- It Started with an Apology.

"What inspired this new line? It seems darker than your previous work," Madilen Woods asked, smiling at me.
The two of us were sitting across each other in fold in directors chairs. She was asking me about my new line for a Vanity Fair article, which was still shocking to me. Never would I thought I would actually get my own article all by myself, without any help from my father or outdoor sources.
I glance over at Alexander who was nelt down on the floor, taking pictures of us. He pushed the button on his camera before moving it away from his face, smiling at me. I smiled back at him before giving my attention back to the interview.
"Well, this is the first line I've made since writing my books. It's a statement piece on the standards models are forced to strive for. The clothes in my line start out slick and chic, not a single hair or thread out of place. It's meant to represent what the world thinks beauty should be. After three perfect outfits, it slowly evolves into what I think fashion should be. The clothes are carefree and fun. My models are made up of different colors, sizes, and genders."
Madilen nodded smiling. "I fell in love with your book. You go into deep detail about growing up as 'the boy who lived' and the pressure that put on you to be perfect and worthy."
Her smile turned sad. "It's hard to believe you developed an eating disorder at only ten years old."
I glanced over at Alec, seeing him look through his pictures on his camera, frowning. He didn't like when the topic turned to my sickness, but it couldn't be avoided half the time. The whole reason I made a book was to stop people from having to go through what we had to.
"Sadly it's more common than you would think. A lot of kids develop disorders around the age of twelve. That's why I also made a picture book talking about my struggles with it. Our friend and famous artist Jonathan Santiago helped me with the illustrations. It's thanks to him that the book came out as great as it did. I've already seen it have an impact on kids and it makes me happy that it will save so many small lives."
"Oh that's right. Jonathan Morgenstern made the pictures for your book. They were very nicely drawn," Madilen agreed.
"Yes well, he prefers people call him by his married name, Santiago.
"Oh yes, of course," she agreed before turning to her assistant, telling him to make sure they have santiago in the final draft.
To be honest, I was shocked when Jonathan offered to help me with my children's book. He claims it was to help the youth, but a part of me wondered if it was to stop the bad blood between us. He's Alec's best friend and I'm his boyfriend. The two of us have to get along for his sake.
That wouldn't have even been a possibility if I couldn't fix what happened between him and Raphael. I mean sure, they are happily married now and are trying to adopt their first kid. That almost didn't happen though because I had a big mouth and took my anger out on Jonathan, almost ruining his relationship with Raphael all together.
Raphael, alec, even Sebastian couldn't get through to the thick headed guy. They kept begging him to come home and talk things out, but he didn't even listen to them.
No, I ruined their relationship, so the only one who could have fixed it was me. There was no way I could have focused on my own recovery without fixing all my wrongs first.
Two Years Earlier
So you get out of the hospital and the first thing you think to do is come all the way to Ohio to talk to me?"
