Love From The Start Chapter Sixteen- It Started with Recovery

Alec Pov

"You're going to visit him again? The nurses are going to get tired of seeing you," Sebastian asked watching me get my camera bag together. I don't really know why I bother bringing my equipment with me every time I visit Magnus in the hospital. It's not like I actually take any photos while I'm there.

Magnus sitting in a hospital bed blankly looking out the window isn't something I ever want to document.

"I told Magnus I would come see him and I meant it," I said putting my camera bag over my shoulder.

"Yeah but why do you go every day? Besides that, don't think I didn't notice that you go to see him at four PM specifically. It's not like you to be so set on schedules. Why do you only go to see him at four?"

"It's just the best time for visiting hours," I answered, avoiding eye contact with him. "Forget about that though. Is Jonathan coming home anytime soon?"

Sebastian's mission to bring Jonathan back from Ohio was a bust. He and Raphael drove eight hours to get him, but he wouldn't even look at Raphael. As for Sebastian, he managed to make his way into Jonathan's room, but couldn't talk him into coming home.

"Who knows. Magnus is such an ass. I can't believe he said those things to Jon. What was he thinking?"

I glared at him, my defenses up. "Magnus wasn't thinking. He's in a toxic mental state right now and he can't be held accountable for the things he said or did."

Sebastian scoffed at that. "You can't just give him a pass Alec. Wither he was in his right mind or not, he needs to be held accountable for everything he has done and said. He ruined my brothers relationship, hurt you even though all you wanted to do was help him, and worst of all he tried to take his own life. If you try to just tiptoe around the subject, it will only make everything worse."

I knew he was right, but it was still hard to accept. Magnus is in so much pain and I just want it to end. Sebastian was right though. If Magnus doesn't face the things he did and how much he hurt others, then he will never be able to face himself. He's been ignoring his problems for far too long.

"I'm heading out now. Magnus should be done with his therapy session soon. Those seem to be helping him."

Actually, I couldn't tell if they were helping or not. Magnus doesn't talk to me about what goes on in therapy. It's not like he has to tell me. It is a private thing and no one else should be involved in it. Still, I want to know if it's at least helping him feel good about himself.

"Let's hope therapy is enough," Sebastian said, watching me go.

  The hospital was really nice. It was more of a rehab center for the rich and famous. Since Magnus is the son of a famous fashion Icon, along with having his own career, he was emitted here to keep out of the media's eye. The first time I came to see him, I had to go through a security check that took almost an hour to complete. Now they have seen me enough to know who I am.

I walked into the building and the receptionist at the desk immediately smiled at me. "Good evening Alec. You got here just in time. Magnus just finished his session with Dr. Johnson. He should be back in his room now."

"Thank you very much," I said before heading to Magnus's room. It was on the third floor all the way down the hall. He pretty much had the whole east wing to himself, since he didn't want anyone to know he was here.

After taking the elevator up and walking down the hall, I stopped in front of his door, looking down at my phone. It was exactly four pm. Magnus tried to take his life almost a week ago today, at exactly this time. Ever since then, I have been visiting him at four to make sure he is still alive. If I can't get here to visit him, then I make sure to call him. There's even an alarm set on my phone so I don't forget to do it, not that I would.
