He blocked her kick with his right arm, shielding his temple from shattering.
Killua knew that the kick could've killed someone, had it not been him.
She grimaced, and looked down at her foot, his arm's like lead.
Killua smirked, but his gut was telling him to stop before he ended up killing her, so, he ran his fingers through his hair, "I think we should call it a draw," the switch is gonna break if I don't—
"—Afraid?"
He could hear the mockery in her voice.
"Che. As if," Killua shot her a glare, "You should be the one to be afraid," with every word, the bloodthirstiness he had been holding back had crawled its way to the surface.
He took a deep breath, "But, let's call it a draw."
Major General Armstrong's eyes watched as he regrouped with the young brothers, for a split second it felt as though she had been suffocating. She cleared her throat and ordered the guard next to her to show them to their quarters.
"They've travelled enough to earn some rest," she said, slipping back on the white uniformed gloves they wear. She didn't want to admit it, but had the pale boy been well-rested, he could've easily wiped out half her troops here.
As she passed the guard by the door, while placing a hand on his shoulder, she spoke in a lowered tone, "Keep an eye on Killua."
Major General Armstrong briskly walked the corridor that led her back to her office, not even looking behind her once.
^*^*^*
Killua watched as she marched around the opposite corner, "She's suspicious of me."
Ed gave him a sideways glance, "Ya, so are we."
"Were," Alphonse corrected.
"Did you mention to her that I come from a family of assassins?" 'Cause there's that reason.
Al shook his head, "She wouldn't have let us come if she knew."
Edward snapped his pocket watch shut, "Doesn't matter if she knows or not," he gave Killua a sly grin, "If you don't stop wanting to kill off everyone you fight with, there's bound to be some trust issues."
"My switch still isn't perfect yet," he touched the top of his head where he had pulled the needle out of, "Must be an after effect of what Aniki did."
"What are you talking about?" Ed looked at him in confusion, he couldn't understand why Killua spoke in that cryptic way of his.
"My aniki stuck one of his mind-controlling needle things in my head, so that I could basically be his pawn."
"Your family is really messed up," Ed spat.
"It was the business," the white-haired boy shrugged.
Al looked between the two, before changing the subject, "Do you think the food's gonna be good?"
"You can't eat though."
"Shut it," Edward had grabbed onto Killua's shoulder, "People don't really know of his... condition."
Killua scanned the armour, "It's kinda obvious though," he knocked on Al's chest plate, "You can hear that he's hollow when he walks."
"Most don't pay that much attention, Killua," Alphonse said sheepishly, "and, I'd like to keep it that way."
Ed watched as Killua looked down the hall then watched as he smiled, "Well, living in the shadows is what I do best!"
"Ya," Edward slapped Killua on the back, "Don't go around sayin' that."
~~~~~
"You can't just say that!"
Killua redirected a punch from Edward Elric, "Is saying my older brother's trying to kill me too much?"
Alphonse held onto his nii-san's collar, preventing him from pouncing on Killua for the third time, "It's not ideal, it does raise curiosity and—"
"-Curiosity kills everyone involved!" Ed unlatched himself, and readjusted his coat, "Right!?"
"Well," Al spoke up, "I was going to say that curiosity then encourages questions, and questions need answers, and Killua's answers are always cryptic so any chances of his survival are very low."
"So basically what Ed said."
"Ya."
"You couldn't have saved that explanation for later?"
"Fully understanding something is key to—"
"Al, I don't think he cares about your alchemy research."
"Nii-san! How could you say that?!"
"Oh boy," Killua ducked as Al swung a fist at Edward's face, he sighed, "I'm going to go eat."
With hands in his pockets, the boy made his way to the cafeteria, unable to shake the chill running down his spine.
Wonder if they have hot chocolate.
