"Fuck" I gasped waking up from yet another terrible dream about her I miss her terribly and I'm not dealing with this breakup well.

Who is this allusive 'her' you may be asking yourself her name is Y/N, aka the girl I have been in love with since 8th grade we dated all four years of high school and up until about a month ago. You'd think a 27 year old guy could handle a break up but that's just not the case with me I loved her, I still do love her, I saw her in my future I wanted to propose soon.

"13 years of my life down the damn drain" I said putting my head in my hands.

I picked up my phone and called the first person I could think of who would answer at 3:30 in the morning ... Selena.

"Charlie what the hell is 3:30 in the morning" she said sounding tired

"I'm really sorry for calling you it's just ..."my voice caught in my throat " Y/N umm well she broke up with me and I'm having a really hard time dealing"

"That Bitch" she muttered "ill be right there" she said groggily

20 minutes later

As I lie in bed staring at the ceiling I hear a knock on the door I got up and made my way down stairs to let Selena in

"Oh Charlie you look like a mess" she said presumably referring to the bags under my eyes on my tear stained face

"13 years Selena 13 fucking years I have loved her for 13 long years I was gonna propose" I said my voice cracking slightly

"Char it will get better"

"No" I said finally letting the tears slip "it won't get any better she was it for me and now she's gone"

"Charlie Puth look at me" she said forcing me to look at her " you are amazing and you will find love again"

And with that I kissed her without thinking she pulled away quickly

"What the hell Charlie"

"I-I'm sorry I don't know what go into m-" I was cut off by her lips on mine once more this felt so wrong yet so right

The next morning

I woke up immediately regretting what I had done the night before I looked over to see Selena sleeping soundly next to me

"God Y/N when I touch her I feel so bad because it feels like I'm cheating on you" I mumbled under my breath instantly getting an idea for a song I shot up out of bed putting on a pair of boxers and I made my way down to the studio in my basement

1 hour later

"Charlie?" I heard Selena say behind me she put her hands on my shoulders causing me to tense up

"Look Lena I love you as a friend I regret what we did last night I don't know why but I can't shake this feeling it feels like I cheated on Y/N with you and it's breaking my heart and I need to go talk to her"I said getting up to go get dressed

30 minutes later

I don't know how I always find myself back here she hurt me so bad this time around and yet I keep finding myself back on her doorstep

"Charlie?" She said snapping me out of my thoughts

"Y/N hear me out" I sighed "I fucking love you I will never stop loving you I've spent the last 13 years of my life with you and I can't give that up you're it for me I can't love anyone else I proved that to myself. You're my person you're the one I was meant to find the last month has been hell for me I need you I feel like I can't breathe without you" I said very fast

"Woah woah woah" she giggled "Char slow down"

"Please Y/N I can't live without you, I can't breathe without you, I need you in my life I-I Y/N/N just please come back"

"Charlie" she smiled " I love you the last 13 years have been the best 13 years of my life because I have spent them with my best friend"

I started to speak but I was cut off by her lips on mine and that oh so familiar feeling of sparks flying damn I love this girl ...
