ELLARIA'S POV:

The next few days passed in a blur with work and Ebenezer's final exams coming up, it was crazy busy.

"Marianne." I shouted from the kitchen.

"Yes." she called back and came running inside all dressed for her school.

"Grab me the box placed in the living room." I said as I placed Ebenezer's breakfast in front of him.

She mumbled a small 'okay' and went out.

"Thanks Zoe." he said and kissed my cheek.

"You're welcome, baby." I cooed.

"Where's Bray Bray?" he asked.

"He's in Cuba, baby. He has work there." I tell him as I settle down to eat my own breakfast.

"Oh. When will he come?" he asked.

"Next week. For a short visit." I told him.

"Is this the one?" Marianne asked holding a big black box with a yellow ribbon tied around it.

"Uh-huh. Open it." I replied popping fruits in my mouth.

Her eyes widened as soon as she took off the lid.

"This is so beautiful." she gushed.

"Great. It's yours." I shrugged.

"W..what?" she asked in shock.

"For your homecoming. A yellow dress." I said looking at her.

She dropped the dress back in the box hurriedly and came to hug me.

"Thank you so much. You're the best." she whispered in my ear and kissed my cheek.

"You're welcome." I smiled at her.

"Zoe, you didn't get anything for me?" Ebenezer asked with a pout.

"Of course, I did. You can get it once you ace all your finals." I told him.

His eyes lit up and he nodded vigorously. His school bus arrived a minute later and I quickly saw him off.

Marianne and I left simultaneously.

"See you tonight." she said to me and I nodded in response as I got in my car.

I have been avoiding Ignazio for the past few days ever since that... night. I hated how he affected me, how he came barging in my room, in my life. The walls, I have took years building, became weak. It's like I lose myself when I am around him.

My thoughts came to a halt with my car outside the archery club. Today was Acacia's first test. I needed to see how far has she come otherwise she can start looking for other clubs.

"Good morning, ma'am." David greeted me.

"Morning, David." I replied and continued to walk towards the field.

What I saw surprised me.

What is he doing here?

I internally huffed in frustration as I saw Ignazio with Acacia and Adrin.

"Morning, Ellaria." Acacia was the first one to spot.

"Morning." I replied monotonously.

I greeted the two men with a single nod then turned to Acacia, "If you fail today, I won't be your trainer anymore nor will this place be your training area."

She swallowed but nodded with determination blazing her eyes.

Just what I wanted to see.

"Go ahead." I said and pointed towards her station.
