Ignazio's POV:
"What's wrong with her all of a sudden?" Damien asked as I stared at the spot she was standing at, a few minutes ago.
The wheels in my head spun and I started to follow her, "She thinks it's her fault."
Damien was following closely behind me but by the time I rounded the corner to reach the elevator, it had already closed and the last thing I saw was her blank face.
I sprinted towards the stairs and started to descend them as fast as I could.
"Slow down." I heard Damien's voice behind me.
"I can't. I have to stop her." I replied and in under a minute, I was standing in the lobby and just then the elevator doors opened.
Our eyes met and for a brief moment and I saw a tinge of fear in her eyes before it disappeared and she got out.
"What the fuck are you doing, Ellaria?!" My voice boomed in anger.
"Going home." She said and tried to side-step me but I stopped her by wrapping my hand around her wrist.
"Leave my hand." She said, emotionlessly.
"Never." I said without missing a beat.
She tugged at her wrist roughly and because my hold was loose, she got away quickly. I heard Damien's footsteps behind me and I turned around to give him a look that said 'don't interfere.'
"Since it is so hard for you to grasp let me spell it out for you. I am Ellaria Ambrose, daughter of Silas Ambrose, the man who killed your brother and is now after your life. What makes you think I am any different than him? I will end up just like him. It's what he always wanted." She ranted as soon as I turned to face her.
I scoffed internally and shook my head but she cut me off as if she sensed that I was about to say something, "NO! Don't try to sweet-talk me out of it because it won't work this time. You can't keep running from the truth. This is me, in the flesh, and I am equally responsible for all of his crimes. How can you even trust me?!" She cried out as the tears finally fell free.
Because it isn't your fuckin' fault, you stupid little woman.
My anger had started to skyrocket at this point and all I wanted to do was throw her stubborn ass over my shoulder and take her home.
As I tried to compose myself, she turned around and climbed down the steps to go towards her car which I saw was parked across the street.
I tucked my hands in my pockets and calmly walked towards the entrance and said, "You say I can't run from the truth yet you're doing just that."
"You're running, Ellaria. You're running from your feelings." I added, just as she turned around to face me.
"There are no feelings!" She yelled and wiped her tears.
It hurt me to see the woman I love in that state.
"You can lie to yourself all you want but I can see through you." I said and climbed down one step.
"Get out of my life and leave me alone." She begged.
I could see the denial shining clear as a day on her face so I did not let the pain that her words caused, affect me.
"I can't leave you alone, Ellaria. Don't you get it? I lov-"
I was unable to complete my sentence because out of nowhere, I heard a car horn and the next second, it sent Ellaria flying in the air.
My words got stuck in my throat and my heart dropped to my stomach as I heard a loud thud and the car speeding away.
"IGNAZIO!" Damien shouted my name and shook me by the shoulders.
