Chapter Forty-four:

"Are you really going to do this?" I heard the sad voice of Patricia, as if she was about to cry. When everything was in its place, I faced her. She's sitting at my bed and I automatically rolled my eyes. She was pouting and crying like a puppy.

I already looked for an apartment at lilipat na ako roon. You've done enough and that's what I thank for," I said to her sincerely. Matagal na ako sa bahay nila and I already considered them like a family so it was also hard for me. Ayaw ko rin sanang umalis. But I need to do this.

"Is it because of my mom?" her voice cracked and tears already began to pool in her eyes. I admitted that her mom was terrifying. She kept on talking about business nonstop as if we were interested. The atmosphere was tensed when she announced that Hans will be marrying the daughter of the CEO of whatever company that is.

We were shocked, knowing that Hans was already married to Danielle. Their parents didn't know, of course. Well, annulment is the best solution.

"No, it's not for your mom. It is for myself. Magkikita pa naman tayo, 'no? We will still meet and I promise I will give you a visit. Okay na ba?"

With that, her face glowed in satisfaction. "You sure?" She asked and I nodded.

His face was pale. He looked stressed. For this past weeks, wala kasi siyang ibang ginagawa kundi ang magmukmok. I'm already worried about his health. Namamayat na siya.

"You can stay if you want. You don't need to do this," bungad niya. "If your worried about mom, gagawa ako ng paraan."

I shook my head. "No. You don't need to do that.

I don't want to add any problem to him anymore.

It's decided. I'm sorry kung pabigla. This is nothing to do about your mom," I said to ease their doubts.

"Make sure to visit us often," he demanded.

I smiled at him. "Sure."

Hans and I are okay now. Wala na sa amin ang nakaraan. Wala na sa amin ang lahat. I'd already forgiven him for what he did. Wala naman siyang kasalanan sa totoo lang. We both made a mistake. Thankfully, we are still friends after what happened.

I have plenty of time para mag-ayos at maglinis. It's Sunday so I don't have something to do. Clever texted me good morning but I didn't dare to reply.

"Hey. I'm sorry. Medyo busy. Kakalipat ko lang ng apartment." I texted him immediately.

Nilapag ko muna ang gamit sa sahig. The room was actually empty. Tapos mag-isa lang ako kaya I feel more comfortable. I'd made sure to the landlady na wala akong kahati sa kwarto. Ayaw kong may  kasamang iba. I'm not comfortable.
