Any mere mortal would have exploded, DiDi thought, as he entered their village.

The past two days had been hell for him.

He had not felt this much for anything or ANYONE in a long time.

He knows he likes Shen Yue. He also knows he doesn't like what she is doing.

His head is going to split in two trying to decide what to do.

His brain has been telling him to continue on with his plan to stop her publishing her book – he had everything he needed to ensure it.

The partnership with Wang Ke was inked last Monday, Dong Xin had messaged him yesterday (in full confidence) asking him how he and Yue were after what happened in The Place Mall and he responded that she should not worry herself over them – proof that he has successfully infiltrated Yue's life, and now he was having dinner with his family which could very well mean he was on his way back to their graces no matter what happens with his plans.

They are family, after all.

They will stand by each other until the end – despite of and inspite of the fights.

But... his heart is telling him to put a stop on all his schemes and put her happiness as his top priority.

She is as broken as he and with her best friends' wedding getting nearer, she needs support more than getting stuck in the fear of his threats that he would ruin her life.

Her life is hard as it already is without his intervention and there is no one she can rely on to save her.

Unless DiDi decides to switch from the devil to an angel.

Still, would she even believe the transformation?

He had given her no cause to view him differently.

DiDi plays "bastard son-of-a-bitch" perfectly. Too perfectly actually, if Xi Zi is right about Yue crying during the last time they confronted each other.

Torn in indecision, work had been DiDi's only salvation these days.

He arrived at their house and was buzzed in by the guard.

After his conversation with Zi Wei, going home is long overdue.

He missed his parents and being home might be able to bring him a little clarity.

He set a deadline for Yue to make her decision about the book and that deadline is coming real soon. It is a deadline for himself as well.

If he pushes through with his threat, he would ruin her.

And if he doesn't, he is going to give her the opportunity to ruin him.

Will he be able to take that?

Almost as if in a daze with his thoughts putting his world in a somehow permanent spin, he entered their house... only to be electrified.

He heard laughter as soon as the doors opened.

His face became pale white because he knows all those voices – one is his mother's, his sister's, and... Shen Yue's.
