DiDi frowned at his phone.Shen Yue's line continued to be busy.
WHO IN THE WORLD COULD SHE POSSIBLY BE TALKING TO THIS LONG?!?
About to dial her number again, his phone rang and his sister's name flashed on the screen.
"Zi Wei?"
"Gege! Do you really miss my friend so much that even after being put on call waiting for three times you will still call her again knowing full well she might be talking to someone important???"
He raised his brow. "Were you the one talking to her?"
"No. That was our neighbor."
"End this call now so I can coordinate with Hao-Ge about cutting your line."
Zi Wei laughed. "I will have Daddy call them to have it re-installed. Seriously! You just fell in love and you're lamer with your threats!"
He shook his head. "Am I on loud-speaker and is Mommy listening in?!?"
His sister gasped. "I am appalled at your accusation! I will never rope in Mommy in this!"
"Mommy, if you are in the room, and you are listening in on this, I have taken note that your favorite is Zi Wei and it breaks my heart! After all this time, I cannot believe you would do this! You said I was your favorite!"
"Excuse me! WHEN DID MOMMY EVER SAY YOU ARE HER FAVORITE?!? Also, SHE REALLY ISN'T HERE. Why would I even lie to you?"
"Zi Wei, you are nowhere as fast as Mommy in returning my quips, and you have not even paused for a beat in our entire exchange. I'm sure she's there."
"You did not just – oh well... since you are accusing me unjustly and cannot accept the fact that I really am smarter than you, I won't tell you what Yue told me. I called you because it would have made you jump over the moon."
Curse his sister!
Of course, though... he isn't going to let her win.
"Lies", he told her, "I'm ending this call because there's someone I need to call, who I am sure is waiting for me already."
Zi Wei laughed. "She's tured and very very sleepy."
"She'll feel refreshed and re-energized as soon as she hears my voice"
"You're really hate me right now don't you?"
He bit his lip to not give away the sigh of impatience about to escape him. "Bye, Zi Wei."
"She really didn't tell me anything", Zi Wei said in a hurry, stopping him from sliding on the end call button.
"So she really didn't say anything."
There was a snort of smugness. "But she did say that whatever she would be telling me is something you need to know first."
That... that... made him smile.
He isn't even sure if what he is "assuming" is right but he felt in his heart that whatever it is that Yue said he needs to know first is something good and would make him really happy.
"She "STILL" really didn't say anything", he countered his sister.
"Do not lie by using that tone on me and pretending you didn't understand what I said. I don't believe you're not jumping over hoops about that", Zi Wei answered, "And besides, it's true that I am not with Mommy because who I am with is Daddy. And he wants you to know that I am now his only favorite child because he heard how you treat me and you are not a very good brother."
