Chapter Sixty-Two

Wang He Di saw Shen Yue trudge towards the kitchen and worried.

He is sure he carried her back to the bed to sleep comfortably but by the looks of her, she seems to still need rest.

DiDi seriously considered cancelling his plans for the two of them today until she smiled up at him after he handed her a cup of coffee.

"I know that it's short notice but we need to leave by ten", he then told her, "Do you think you could manage it?"

Her brows furrowed. "Are we checking out?"

He nodded. "Zi Wei and Kido will be here by that time."

" Zi Wei and Kido?!?"

"Li Xi Zi's family has a rest house in Xichong that is near here. It's very private and truly beautiful. We've been invited to spend the rest of the weekend there."

Her eyes almost bugged out of her face. "WHAT?!?! I have nothing to wear!"

DiDi smiled. "Zi Wei has everything you need since you guys almost wear the same size. And she's very excited to see you too because even if, technically, she and Kido don't even need to go here anymore, she pushed for it. I won't be surprised if she insists that you guys go together in the car."

"Well... Uhmmm... Ahhhh....", she looked flustered and then seemed to eventually get a little more comfortable with the idea in her head because the next thing she said was, "I can drive on my own. I rented a car here."

"Who says you're driving?"

"I'm going to leave the rental?!?"

"I've arranged for everything so don't worry your head too much, ok? Just trust in me."

He's happy to note that despite her perfunctory need to question him, she clamped down on it and stayed quiet for a few seconds.

"Ok", she answered measuredly.

"After breakfast, someone will be up to help you pack."

"Really? But there's no need. I can pack on my own."

"Yue, it's thirty minutes past eight. You still need to shower and dress for our trip. Accept the help so you don't have to think about anything else, ok?"

He handed her a danish to remind her that she still needed to eat breakfast and gave his imaginary self a high-five when she bit into the bread without another word.

What he told her last night must have made an impact because she isn't resisting him as much as she did before.

"One step at a time, Wang He Di", he told himself, "One step at a time."

Everything is just far too easy, Yue considered.

When a Wang Family member sets their mind to something, they really do everything in their power to make sure they get it.

The maid who helped her pack was already informed to prepare a second and lighter bag for her for a trip to the beach. The woman neatly arranged everything in a bag (that apparently DiDi purchased God knows when) and when Kido and Zi Wei arrived, they had a driver and assistant with them who is tasked to take Yue's car back to the rental, and have her larger luggage be transported back to her home in Beijing.

She is not used to such extravagant comforts.

And it definitely shows because Zi Wei had to tell her more than twice to not think about it anymore.
