"You sure you're good?" asked the concerned Hodgins.

"Yes, I just ate something that didn't associate well with my stomach," she lied.

Violet was simply discussing the mess she created earlier. Hodgins, being her caretaker, needed to know things like this.

"No pain? Anywhere?" he questioned once more.

Violet felt her head throb slightly. Her stomach felt light. She could still feel as if there was a hole in her stomach.

"No pain," she lied again.

Violet felt guilty, but...

'I hate lying, but I don't want them to worry about me. Good thing I woke up just as quickly as I passed out, if I was gone longer than 2 minutes, I'm sure Mr. Hodgins would have sent the girls to check on me.'

Suddenly, distant memories slowly came back to her...

"Wait, Violet..."

BANG!!!!

Violet felt her stomach gurgle again. This time worse than before. But she already emptied her guts. Her stomach had nothing left to regurgitate. So, all that came was a sick feeling.

"I'm good."

She made a forced smile.

Hodgins looked at her carefully.

"Okay, Violet. I believe you. You're dismissed for the rest of the day. Feel free to take any in-jobs on your way out. Since, you like doing them so much," he said as he pointed to the "in-job" basket.

"Thank you, but can I just rest in the breakroom today?"

"Of course. Feel right at home."

She slowly bowed.

Then, she exited the room.

Hodgins made a frown. He tapped his finger against the desk and opened the built-in drawer. He picked up the picture that lay inside. This was his favorite picture, although the guy who developed it screwed up by having the word "SAMPLE" somehow placed right in the middle of it. Hodgins liked it though. It was imperfect, but that's the way life is right? Imperfect.

In that picture, two men stood side by side. One man had shaggy features with distinct crimson hair. The other man had neat black hair. A few scars on his face, the same with the first man. But this man's distinct features were his emerald eyes.

Hodgins looked at the label under the picture.

"Hehe," he chuckled.
