ARC 1: New Roomate?

~Elizabeth's POV~

Liz has her car parked in our driveway. Before I could do anything, Meliodas stormed up towards her, and demanded an explanation.

"Ohh, Meliodas my sweetheart, I'm moving in with the Liones family. My family can't cope financially so I have to live here now!" Liz says, in her fake sweet voice.

"Y-you're kidding right??" Meliodas and I both ask in unison.

"Nope. Go ask Mr Liones himself!" she exclaims, with an evil grin when glancing towards me.

Without furtherado, I practically dash inside, Meliodas attempting to catch up on me. Was I really going so fast?? Anyways, I head up to my fathers room.

"Father, I need answers." I demand.

"Don't even bother complaining. Liz is staying here with us, permanently." is all I heard. A cold reply from my own father.

When I meant "What's next? He adopts her?" I meant that as sarcasm. Why did fate decide this for me?

I can't even object, my body feels too weak to do so.

"Also, what's Meliodas doing here?" Mr Liones added.

"What's the problem now??" I ask.

"Well for one, he's making my daughter rebellious."

"REBELLIOUS? Please. I've been hiding this anger for years ever since mother died. For starters, you had the audacity to replace her just after a FEW WEEKS!!. And then, you started just not caring about me. Nobody cared about me anymore. Meliodas is actually supportive of me, something you've never done for me in years." I manage to scream, then run off outside. I couldn't stand it anymore.

It seems like Meliodas ran after me, though.

"Jeez Ellie, you got fast. Anyways, if you ever need a place to stay, call me. My fathers out often, and my mother is really nice." he says, with a grin. I could really do with a backup place.

"Thank you so much!" I exclaim, before hugging him. A natural reaction, considering after I realised what I did, I quickly pushed away blushing like a maniac. Meliodas had blushed in shock, but then smirked.

"Cute. You're falling for me." he teased, with a wink. I roll my eyes, but blushed more.

A few minutes of talking and laughter arised between us two, until he announced he had to leave, after reading his mothers text. I waved at him as he waved at me. This next event was a nightmare..

For starters, I was forced to help Liz unpack. She had so much stuff, I could hardly believe she was financially unstable. She is very rich, and if my father hasn't picked up on the fact she's using him to just pick on me more, then I don't know what to tell him.

By the time that fiasco had finished, dinner (made by Margaret) had been ready. We all sit down at the table, eating. Father had insisted on sitting next to Liz. All they could do was talk and laugh. It was as if he had a stronger father-daughter bond with her, than any of us. I could see the disapproval on both Veronica and Margaret's face, almost as much as me.

Now, this is where things really took the turn.

"Girls, on a serious note. I have to talk about something important." my father announced.

We all just stayed silence, but stared towards him, signalizing curiosity.

"Mainly Elizabeth and Liz, but Veronica and Margaret can listen in anyways, just to be aware."

This gave me a bad feeling in my stomach. I wasn't even in the mood to eat anymore.

"Elizabeth, I am forbidding you to speak to Meliodas. I will arrange for him and Liz to get back together, and we will have an arranged marriage."

No, no, no. This HAS to be a dream. I try to pinch myself, but it didn't work. Tears fill my eyes so fast. I have never uncontrollably cried like this before. But when it comes to losing the person who always puts a smile on your face, that's when it happens. The feeling of losing someone hurts.

"F-f-father...you're...you're joking...right??" I ask.

"No. He has a bad influence on you, and is better off with Liz. Besides, I can just set you up with someone like Arthur."

"Liz isn't even your daughter! You can't just go arranging marriages for people who aren't even related to us AT ALL. Why is she getting everything she wants when she isn't even in our family? Why am I treated so badly? And have you even considered-" I was interrupted.

"Her parents agree with it, we had a very long discussion about it yesterday, which is why I told you I was having a meeting."

"Let me finish. Have you considered about how Meliodas may feel? Liz hurt the crap out of him. I won't let that happen again." I say, tears balling out of my eyes.

"He'll fall for her eventually. If not, too bad for him. Anyways, I treat Liz as my own because she isn't the mistake here."

At this point, I feel so worthless.

"FATHER HOW COULD YOU??" Veronica screams, tears streaming down her eyes too.

"It's true." he says.

"Father, this is too far. You can't be serious-" Margaret starts to say, and is cut off.

"Well, I am. Veronica, your talent in sports got you very far. You'll have an extraordinary future. Margaret, your knowledge will bring you down a good path. Liz, your arranged marriage will give you lots of money, and will end up being successful. But there's nothing for Elizabeth. Nothing at all. She's a disgrace."

"Just suck it up, El. I'm living with you, and marrying my prince, and that's FINAL." Liz says. She does NOT get the final word around here.

"I'm going to a friends house, I can't stand this any longer." I yell, and slam the door on the way out.

I think father already knew I was going to see Meliodas, but I had to warn him myself..

Sorry for such a turn but it is what it is. Anyways I'll publish next chapter in a few hours or tomorrow so yeeeeeeee.
