ARC 1: To see your pain

~Elizabeth's POV~

I wake up, with arms around me. My eyes focus on a familiar sleeping face, and my face burns up. Exactly how long have I been cuddled up to him?

I try to sit up without him waking, but it's too late. He's already awake.

"Morning Princess.." he drifts off, followed by a yawn.

"Someone's sleepy." I say.

"Nah I'm just too lazy every morning."

"Of course.." I say, rolling my eyes, followed by a chuckle afterwards. I smell food downstairs, it smells so good. Meliodas notices me smelling it.

"Oh, the smell? That's my mom cooking. She's really good!" he exclaims, with a grin. We quickly get changed, and he rushes downstairs, grabbing my arm along the way.

"This smells soooo good." I say, when we enter the kitchen.

"Thanks! It's for you guys. Anyways, Elizabeth, you should ask Meliodas how he's like in the kitchen." she suggests, followed by a giggle.

"MOM NOT THIS-" he screams.

"No, continue. I'm curious." I say.

I hear footsteps of someone else entering. I turn around to see a black haired boy, who looks similar to Meliodas.

"Heya, I'm Zeldris." he says.

"Nice to meet you, I'm-"

"Don't introduce yourself, Elizabeth. My little emo brother here talks about his admiration for you all the time." Zeldris says, with a wink.

"First of all, I'm older. Secondly Zeldis is the emo here." Meliodas scowls jokingly.

They love each other, really.

"Anyways, don't change the subject lil bro. Elizabeth is curious, let's not get her too curious now."

"Like I said, I'm older than you. Secondly, Elizabeth please...no...." he says, worringly, but laughs it off.

"Somehow he manages to mess something up. Just ask him one day to make something, and you'll see what we mean." his mom jumps in.

"Well...not far from the truth. I wouldn't offer Elizabeth my food, since I don't wanna harm her." he says.

"Protective emo brother." Zeldris says.

"Shut up you fuck boy." Meliodas insults back.

I walk over to their mother, whilst they're fighting.

"Ignore them, Elizabeth. They love each other really. They're just too scared to admit it." which made me chuckle.

"Wait, you're wearing Meliodas's hoodie?" his mom asks. Dammit, it's not like that.

"I just uhm..forgot clothes is all, hehe." I say, nervously.

"Mhmmmmm." she teased, which made me go red, and almost pass out fron the blushing.

Meliodas notices, and smirks at me.

"You blush way too much Ellie, it's cute." he says, smirking still, looking down at me laying there, almost passed out.

"Nicknames, eh? "Ellie"?" Zeldris says; making him and his mom laugh.

"She's my cute little Ellie." he says, shrugging his shoulders, smirking.

"B-but I'm taller-"

"Shhh, you're still my cute little Ellie." he says. It's the way he says it, it makes me blush madly.

"Let's face it my emo brothers in loveee." Zeldris says.

"Shut it Zelly Welly, mom told us what you did with Gelda last night."

"Yeah well at least I can actually admit my feelings towards Gelda." Zeldris says, which makes Meliodas go silent for a moment.

I look at the time, and it's almost school.

"Oh, it's time for school! I best be going, thank you all!"

"Running away from me, eh?" I hear Meliodas say, with him tugging my arm.

We greet everyone else goodbye and head to the school.

~Meliodas's POV~

Whilst we're walking up to the school, I see Elizabeth very nervous. I don't blame her. I wish she could live with me permanently, that would literally be the best. But unless we get rid of father, I can't let her enter danger. At the same time, there was no chance I was gonna let her stay with Liz and that backstabbing father of hers.

At the school, I see both Liz and her father. I hear her quiver, so I hold her.

"Meliodas...my head hurts..."

"Do you need the nurse?" I ask.

"No...I'll be fine..."

"Look, about that talking thing. Do you think I'm gonna abide by that? Hell no. I will talk to you for as long as you want. We can spend the day alone, just us two if you want." I say. I think that's what she needs, just to feel stable enough to enter the school. I knew I had to get rid of him. Making his own daughter feel so uneasy.

"Y-yes please...I'd love that." she says. If this is getting to the point where she feels physically sick, I'm throwing hands, no matter what.

The sins walk up to us, me and Elizabeth decide to keep it just between us.

"HEY ELIZABETHHH! Why didn't you call me last night??" I hear a familiar girl say. Phew, it's Diane.

"Oh I must've slept early..." she drifts off. She's good at lying, shockingly.

"Alright, but-" Diane stops herself when she sees the red headed girl walking with Elizabeth's father.

"There she is. Looks like she's breaking our rule!" Liz snarled.

"Elizabeth, wherever you were last night, I hope you know we persuaded your sisters to agree to the rule. If you don't follow this rule, I'll have no choice but to kick you out"

"Go on then. Do it. Liz is the new me now anyways, so it shouldn't really matter..."
