ARC 1: As Long As We Have Eachother

~Elizabeth's POV~

Whilst I break down, nobody comforts me. That's as expected, so I cry even more.

This is until I feel two arms wrap around me. I see strands of his familiar blonde hair. I pull away softly to see his emerald green eyes. Why does he show such care more than my own family?

"Meliodas, why? Why do you always help me and comfort me?" is all I can ask.

"Because I know your pain. We all need a stand of support though. We have each other, and that's all we'll have through this abuse our families put us through. Cmon, lets go, we have no purpose to be in this office any longer." Meliodas says, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear, and giving me his wide grin.

His words touch me. It's all that spirals through my mind.

I slowly nod, and take his hand, walking out. I have only known him for a few days yet he is all I ever wanted.

All I hear from my father as we walk out, is an angry grunt. No care that her daughter is hurt. What's next, he adopts Liz? Meliodas shows more interest in me than anybody ever did.

"I think we've got biology next, let's go." he says, still grabbing my hand, but dashing up the stairs to top floor, where our class always is.

"You...run...really...fast..." I pant, just about managing a laugh after.

"Heh, I am the captain of the basketball team, afterall." he brags, which makes me giggle. When he shows off, it's adorable. Wait, what am I saying??

We open the door, to see everyone already sat in class, including Liz somehow. She must have took the elevator. We slowly release our intertwining hands, as I sit next to Diane, and he sits next to Ban.

I felt people staring. I thought it'd stop after a few seconds but it didn't?

I whisper to Diane "why are people staring??" very faintly, so nobody could here.

She responds back with a whisper, saying "well, when you're holding hands with the captain of the basketball team, it does raise curiosity."

I glance to Meliodas, who also notices the stares. He chuckles.

"What? Jealous that I was holding hands with the prettiest girl in our year?" he asks, unexpectedly. This makes me blush like crazy, but I had to hide it. Diane noticed, though.

"Ooooo someones a blushing mess~" Diane teased, outloud.

"DIANEE." I scream, embarrassingly.

"Okay, okay, enough with the jokes. Let's continue the lesson." Mr Hendrickson says.

(Yes they have the same teacher for all subjects deal with it lmao)

Lesson goes by pretty quickly, probably because I intruded in the middle of the lesson. Everyones chatting for the last 5 minutes, and I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see Meliodas, Ban, and King.

"Oh, hey you guys!" I say.

"Heya Princess." Ban and King both say in unison, then start fighting in the background.

"Hey Elizabeth, I see someone enjoyed my compliment earlier.." Meliodas teased, and started to..uhm...grope on me??

"U-uhmmmm.." is all I could get out before going 50 shades of red.

"HANDS OFF YOU PERVERT." Diane screams.

"Oh yeah, the captain gets like that all the time. You might wanna get used to it." King says, before we all start laughing.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure the only one I grope on is you, Ellie" Meliodas says before groping again.

"MELIODASSS WHY WERE YOU HOLDING HANDS WITH HER??" I hear a familiar voice call. Liz.

"What are you doing here, bruh? Don't ya think you've caused enough trouble?" Ban says, getting pissed.

"Well, nobody was really over with the discussion. They both just left, after Elizabeth doing her sappy story to make others pity her."

All I can do is cry, but before I could let a tear, I feel someone grab me. Meliodas.

"Liz, you need to go. Now. Before I get really pissed off." I heard him say. Before anything else could happen, the bell rings, and we're sent out of class.

Liz and her best friends wonder off. However, Meliodas still didn't let go. Not like I minded..or anything?

"You okay, El?" Meliodas asked.

"Yeah, thanks to you." and he slowly lets go, both of us smiling.

"Just kiss already, he's already the knight in shining armour" we heard Diane murmour.

"DIANE I HEARD THAT." I yell, then blushing out of embarrassment.

I glance to see Meliodas's reaction, but he notices me staring, and smirks.

"You seem tense, let me relax you up a lil" he says, before groping on me again. I just sigh and roll with it. Wait, I'm rolling with it?? I blush realising what I'm getting myself into.

"Elizabeth's getting used to this real fast~" Ban chuckles.

"I told you all I'm an expert." Meliodas giggles, followed by a grin.

He slowly stops groping me, and we head to our next class.

It's the end of last class now, and everyone leaves the school.
All the sins gather infront of the building.

"Cya guys, I need to get going-" I start to say, but someone ends up tugging on my sleeve. It's like when I was dropped off home from the mall..Meliodas again.

"Nuh-uh, not after what Liz did to you today. I'll walk you home." Meliodas suggests.

"No you won't, you pervert!" Diane yells.

"Don't worry Diane, I'll be fine." I say nervously, and that's the end of that fiasco.

"So this is where we part ways, cya all." Ban waves.

We start walking, it was silent, but peaceful. I needed a way to break the silence, though.

"You know, Elizabeth, I made a promise to myself..." Meliodas starts to say.

"O-oh, what promise, if you don't mind me asking?" I ask.

"Well, it was a promise to always fight for what's right."

I stay silent but smile warmly. He really is a kind person. I feel bad for his surroundings in his home, his family. Mostly his father and Estarossa, but I'm too weak to do anything about it.

"And that's why I'm prepared to do anything to protect you, Elizabeth." he proceeds to say.

"But...I'm not worth anything to anyone.." I drift off.

"Well you're worth everything to me." he whispers slightly. I smile and blush. I've never been treaten so nicely like the way he treats me.

Meliodas. The only person who can erase my negative thoughts, bringing positive ones. I mean sure, all my friends make me happy, but he's different. Someone who would go out of his way for a girl like me. He makes me see a whole new light to life. He makes me realise that sometimes when you fall down the stairs, there'll be a way to go up those stairs. (Horrible metaphor im sorry)

But what I see in front my house stops all of that, and we both are just stunned by surprise...
