Friday morning rolled around real fast for the NYPD detective. She lay sound asleep on her bed, the morning alarm sounded signaling for her to wake up.

Kate sat up and groaned. Time for work. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and pulled back the covers. What she dreaded most was the feeling of the cold hardwood floor under her toes.

The morning routine had became a habit to the detective and she was already half way through the process when her phone buzzed.

Sliding back into her original spot on her bed, her hands traveled to the all to familiar spot on her night stand. The number was recognized by the brunet, mostly because it was one of her colleges, Esposito.

"Beckett."

"Yea, we have a murder near up town. Ill text you the address."

"Be there in twenty."

She hung up and dialed the number she knew all to well with a smile.

Castle laid sprawled out on his king size bed, his covers halfway off of his body. The night for the writer had been restless, naughty dreams surrounding a certain detective filled his night.

The reserved ringtone set for the spoken of detective pulled the writer into a urgent state.

Castle rolled from his position on the bed to reach his phone on his night stand. Checking the name before answering it, he smiled when his hypothesis became true.

"Castle."

"Hey castle, we caught a murder. Espo is texting me the address am I picking you up?"

The ruggedly handsome man threw back his covers and began to dress hisself.

"Yes, I'll be ready in five."

The woman on the other end of the line grinned.

"Okay. Be there soon."

The writer when into immediate response. He wanted to be able to make coffee for the beloved before she arrived to pick him up, he set out for his shirt closet to choose the right shift and jacket for the morning with his partner.

Kate arrived at castles front door with a breeze. The all to familiar loft was one she loved visiting, no matter the time, was easy to get to from her apartment. She pressed the doorbell button sounding her arrival to the ones in side.

Within a matter of seconds the lock was turned and the smiling man appeared with two cups of freshly brewed coffee in his hands.

"Ready to go?"

The man in front of her smiled and handed the coffee made special for the detective over to her.

"More than ever, here you go."

Accepting the coffee Kate smiled and ducked her head concealing a blush.

"Thank you castle. let's head out I have the address sounds like a nasty one."

The crime scene was a bad one. The victim was headless but that was New York for you. Lanie announced the John Doe was deceased before being beheaded. Ryan was sent to retrieve the street camera video flim while Esposito was sent to hunt down any witnesses. Both turning up empty handed.

"Okay thank you Lanie."

Kate smiled to the medical examiner and turned to her parter.

"That's..."

"Disturbing?"

Castle answered for her.

"Very."

The team headed back the the prescient to uncover why the victim didn't have a head and more importantly to figure out who the headless man was.

"I believe this case is going to be a long one."

The detective shot the ruggedly handsome writer a glance assuring him she agreed with him fully.
