The bar was packed, for a Wednesday night it wasn't unusual.
Castle jumped from his seat and traveled the distance to the other side of the car to greet the smiling brunette. He opened the door like the gentleman he was, similar to the occasion that had at the bar a couple of nights ago.
"Thank you."
"Always."
The two shared eye contact before Kate made the move toward the bar, castle shortly following after. She pulled open the door to the smell of, well a bar, people where dancing, music was playing and the bar itself was full.
Castle pushed through the crowds, making a pathway for the detective behind him. He made it to the bar but when he turned to ask the detective what she wanted, she had vanished no where in sight.
"Kate!?"
He scanned the crowd, but coming up with no sign of his partner. He began the journey he he came from in search of the one he truly needed to find.
"Kate?!"
He screamed a little louder, despite the music being awfully loud he heard his name being as loud as a whispered.
"Castle."
"KATE?"
His eyes grazed the sight of his partner being grabbed on by countless numbers of men.
"Get off of her."
He charged at the men knocking them away from his partner, and wrapping her in his arms.
"What happened? How did you get all the way over there?"
He began dragging her toward the door, knocking people out of his way in the process. He felt that a beer would have to be drank in the apartment of the detective or the opposite.
He opened the door and waited for the detective to reply. The brunette pulled back from his embrace to look into his eyes.
"Thank you for that Castle, I don't know what would have happened if you wouldn't have done that."
"What happened?"
She ducked her head in order to hide her embarrassing expression.
"I got grabbed, they over powered me. I didn't have my piece on me either."
"I'm sorry. I should have kept you in front of me."
"No castle, it's not your fault. I think we should just have a drink at my place."
"Are you sure? We could go to a different bar."
"No I think I just need a beer and my couch. You with me?"
"I'd be happy to accompany you."
She began her walk to the car, when she realized the writer wasn't following she turned on her heal and faced her partner.
"You coming Castle?"
"Ah yea, coming."
The pair arrived at Kate's apartment, Kate being the one to unlock the door of course.
Castle entered the smaller apartment he knew so well and striped of his jacket. He then made his way to the detective that was already in the kitchen with two beers in her hands.
She handed the beer to the writer and reached for the bottle opener only for the man in the room to grab it before her. He popped his top before motioning her to stick her bottle out for him to open it.
The bottles where soon downed, the pair had migrated from the kitchen to the love seat in the living room. The detective stood from her spot and made her way toward the kitchen, she grabbed another round for the two of them popping the top before exciting the kitchen area.
Once arrived to the couch, she sat literally a foot away from the writer. Castle turned his attention toward the detective gaining her full focus.
"What do you want to do tonight?"
"We could read, watch a movie or just watch what's on the tv."
"Ah, let's just talk."
The detective turned her bottle toward the sky once more before relaying her answer.
"Talking is boring. Let's cuddle."
The writer was a little taken back by the suggesting but went along with it anyway, he wrapped a arm around the detective and pulled her close.
The pair watched tv for a while, during the time the detective switched positions countless times, the cause being the need for more beer. Her current position was sitting up straight with her back against the arm rest, her legs across the lap of the writer. Their faces literally a hair apart.
Castle turned his attention toward the detective, as if on cue the spoken of woman turned her head to face the writer. Their lips almost touching, the breaths hitched in each of the throats, the air that was coming out found its way ontop of the others lips causing shivers to run all over the bodies of each individual adult.
The eye contact was strong between the two, Kate gave one last breath before taking the leap of fate and closing the gap between the two.
Castle immediately kissed her back, his tongue asking for access to her mouth which was certainly granted.
The two continued the kiss until they both broke gasping for air.
"I've been wanting to do that for a long time."
The detective kissed his lips once more before voicing her reply.
"You have no idea."
