John Harrison, had been the love of my life. For nearly a year and a half, I had only known him as John, a Star Fleet Commander. Life with him seemed magical and it felt like a dream, but as I know you always have to wake up at the end of the dream.
I felt my heart shatter as I watched the guards bring him on board the ship. John Harrison, wasn't the man I thought he was instead he was a murderer.
"You okay?" Jim asked as he stopped beside me.
"Perfectly fine, never been better." I said as I turned and walked to medbay.
I played with the ring on my finger and let out a sigh.
"You alright? You are super quiet today?" Bones said calmly.
"Just tired."
"I have to go collect blood from the prisoner, mind helping me?"
"Sure." I said as I grabbed my supplies.
I followed him to the holding cell and frowned as I saw Jim and Spock talking to him.
"So what's your real name?" Jim asked angrily.
I stopped beside Bones and saw John turn to look at us. His eyes landed on me and I saw a frown appear on his face. I crossed my arms over my chest and waited for his answer.
"Khan Noonien Singh." He said softly.
"Why did you attack Starfleet?" Spock asked calmly.
"Did you open the torpedos?" He asked with a frown.
"Yes, and we found 84 people in a cryogenic sleep." Bones said calmly.
"So you see why I attacked Starfleet."
"Dr. (Y/n), continue with the examination and tell us everything you find, Bones with me." Jim said as he turned and left the room.
Bones sent me a look and then followed behind Spock and Jim.
I pulled out the hypo and got ready to draw blood.
"Hand through the circle." I said sternly.
He placed it through the circle and I put the hypo to his arm and drew his blood. I stayed quiet and moved away to put the hypo away but he grabbed my arm. I turned to look at him and he met my eyes.
"Let go of me, now." I ordered.
"I never lied to you." He whispered.
"John Harrison? Starfleet Commander? What didn't you lie to me about!?"
"About my feelings for you.... they were all real." He said softly.
I shook my head and pulled my arm out of his grip.
"You mean nothing to me." I said as I turned and grabbed the PAD.
After finishing the examination I reported to my station. Soon Khan and Jim left to stop Admiral Marcus and when we next heard from them Khan was threatening Jim's life.
"All I want is a planet for me and my people." Khan growled out.
"Let Kirk go and we will talk about it." Spock said calmly.
"Don't do it Spock." Jim gasped out.
"Don't hurt him.... please, prove me wrong." I said softly.
My eyes met Khan's and I watched as he threw Jim to the side. He nodded his head and I let out a sigh. It wasn't long before he was brought in and taken into court. They soon have them a planet and I felt my heart break as I realized I'd never see the man I loved again. I didn't stay long after they issued the order, I left and went to my home. I started to clean for awhile before I stopped to open the door.
"Jim?"
"We will be taking Khan and his people to their new planet. Another ship will be being resources and help us check to make sure the planet is safe." He said as he walked into my house.
"And you are telling me this why?"
"Because I want you to know that I'm making sure they have a chance at survival.... that you have a chance."
"Me?"
"You are going with them, you and some other people who have agreed to help them survive. Khan told us about his engagement to you, and seeing as you are still wearing the ring... you still love him."
"I don't know.... I... He isn't the man I knew."
"You sure about that? Not just any man would give up his freedom for a anyone?"
"Would anyone hate me?"
"No, do what you think is right, I'll wait for your answer." He said as he left my house.
It wasn't long before I gave him my answer, and I gave it by packing all my stuff up and having it transported to the ship. I had asked for him not to tell Khan that I was joining them.
"Khan, what do you need?" Bones asked as he walked into the Medbay.
"We will be landing soon, I was curious if I could talk to Dr. (Y/n)."
"It's fine Bones." I said as I sent him a smile.
He nodded his head and left me with Khan.
"I wanted to say goodbye.... and that I'm sorry." He said softly.
"Why would you be sorry about anything?"
"I lied to you... and I hurt you... but I never wanted that. I do love you and I hope that someday you will realize that." He said as he turned and left the medbay.
I quickly whipped my eyes and got back to work. We soon landed and got to work on dropping off building supplies and machines. I smiled as I grabbed my things and climbed off the ship with Jim.
"So, how come there are already homes built here?" I asked softly.
"Sent people ahead to start building. I had your medical supplies placed in that building and your personal supplies in the building beside it." He said as he pointed towards it.
"Thank you.... does Khan know I'm staying yet?"
"I told him he would have a doctor staying, didn't say who." He said with a wink.
"Thank you Jim.... for everything." I said as I hugged him.
I soon got to unpacking and putting stuff away.
"Hello? Anyone in here?" A voice asked.
The door opened and I turned to see Khan. His eyes went wide and I sent him a smile.
"Hello Khan." I said softly.
I saw a smile spread onto his face and I let out a laugh as he picked me up and spun me around. He quickly placed me down and cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't o-"
I cut him off by gently pressing my lips against his in a slow and gentle kiss. His arms wrapped around me and he pulled me closer.
"I love you." I whispered against his lips.
"And I love you." He said softly.
