I let out a sigh as I smoothed my dress down. I was forced into an arranged marriage with a Klingon officer. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, Kor was a kind man, and never did anything I didn't want. He went slow with our marriage and never asked much of me. He only asked one thing, for my loyalty.
"Lady (Y/n), a lovely morning isn't it?" Kang asked with a smirk.
"Yes, a lovely morning. What could I do for you?" I asked with a small smile.
"I need your help.... I believe that it's time.... to put Kor down." He said with a smirk.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I felt a frown appear on my face.
"I want to kill him, or better yet.... you to kill him. It's simple, take this dagger and while he sleeps kill him." He said with a smirk.
I looked at the blade in shock and he put it in my hands.
"You do this and you will be free. No one will know it was you. Lie and say it was an assassin." He said in a whisper.
I watched as he turned and walked away leaving me alone with the blade. I quickly hid the blade under my dress and walked back to my house. I saw Kor in his office and after thinking for a second I walked inside.
"I thought I said to knock before coming i-"
He was cut off by me laying the blade on his desk.
"What's that?"
"Kang gave it to me to kill you with." I said softly.
He picked it up and looked it over before looking down at me.
"Why didn't you? He offered you freedom and you choice not to kill me?" He asked with a frown.
"You knew?" I growled out.
"I'm the one who gave it to him." He said as he put the blade down.
"I don't think it matters why I didn't kill you." I said as I turned to walk away.
I felt him roughly grab my arm and pull me up against his chest.
"I've been patient, never forced myself onto you... I think I have a right to know why you didn't kill me." He said as he looked down at me.
His eyes bore into me and I held my breath. After a few seconds I let out a sigh.
"Because I don't hate you... I wish I could. I wish I could shove that blade through your chest, but I can't.... because... I love you." I said as I looked up at him.
I saw a smirk appear on his face and before I could say another word his lips were on mine. I let out a sigh as I wrapped my arms around his neck and allowed him to pull me closer.
"I'll let you in on a secret.... I love you too." He whispered into my ear.
