8. That was Then, This is Now

Amethyst PoV

I laughed as Pearl sat there blushing.

Pranking her like that and also getting her to like tea was fantastic. Amethyst never had pranked Pearl and had her actually enjoy the outcome of the prank before, and it felt pretty cool.

Then Pearl started to laugh, surprising me.

I pranked her- and yeah, she liked the tea... but I didn't expect her to laugh.

Maybe she really is getting over Rose?

Or at least... she's getting to focus more on right now rather than the past.

Whatever it is, I like it.

I laughed and laughed, feeling exhilarated that Pearl was getting to focus more on right now than all those times back then with Rose.

She then sighed, and smiled at me.

Have I mentioned that her smile is like the sun?

"Thank you, Amethyst. Truly. I... had a little fun with that prank."

My heart lit on fire.

"Hehe, Y-yeah, no prob P. Glad to help you relax a little."

She stood up and sighed. "I suppose it's time for me and Connie to train. I would make Steven join, but..."

My heart sank a little, but it's ok. I helped for a little and that's all that matters.

"He's having fun with Peridot and Lapis," I finished.

"Yeah. Well... thanks again Amethyst. Maybe we could hang out later?"

Instantly my heart leaped. "Yeah, definitely! See ya later P!"

"Okay then. Bye Amethyst."

She warped away, leaving me stunned and very happy. 

"I can only hope this lasts..." I mumbled.

If it doesn't...
