Snowdin.
I actually apologize.

We were all worn out from Jasper and her new rebellion attacking, and so we all had a big sleepover/rest thing at Steven's house, after I got the thumbs up from Mom and Dad (mainly Mom) first.
While we were on the way, I noticed a particularly strange flower in the field at the first battle's site. It gave me a weird feeling...
...never trust a flower...
Where'd that come from? Weird...
At first, I thought the feeling was only my imagination.
Then I saw Amethyst notice it and look startled and a little scared at the same time.
So not my imagination?
It was very weird, and I didn't like it, not in the slightest.
Always trust your instincts, Pearl says. My instincts don't like that flower.
I considered crushing the flower, then decided against it.
It's a living thing too, and it has just as much of a right to exist as I do. Plus, Steven wouldn't like it, and Pearl wouldn't understand why, telling me to get more info first.
Wait for the perfect moment to strike, that's what she says.
So we all stayed at Steven's house, and the next day...
...there was about 4 inches of snow outside, blocking the door AND the window.
So, no going outside, and no warp pad at my house, so that doesn't work either.
I woke up on the couch, and saw that Amethyst, Pearl, Lapis, Bismuth, Garnet, and Steven were all awake. I sat up, examining my surroundings.
Steven was eating breakfast, Amethyst was eating a sandwich (again), Bismuth was ALSO eating a sandwich, Garnet was eating... hotdogs??
But... it's the morning...
Also, Pearl was drinking something the color of a coast redwood tree (look it up, browner trunk pictures) and that appeared to be steaming. Probably tea.
When did that happen?
Lapis was awake, but not up. She was still lying down, staring down happily at Peridot and Pumpkin in her embrace.
Cuuuuuute.
I got up with gusto (something Pearl taught me how to do, always being ready to get up at moment's notice, prepared to fight) and realized just how hungry I was.
"You should get something to eat. We haven't put away food yet."
Garnet always knows everything. Of course, with future vision, that's not too much of a mystery.
Steven looked over, politely finished chewing and swallowing, and spoke.
"Definitely- I could fix you up a bowl of cereal," he offered kindly.
"See, Amethyst? That wasn't hard- you could have simply swallowed before finishing your food," Pearl commented on Steven's polite act.
Amethyst laughed. "It's harder for me than it is Steven. Trust me."
I just laughed, and I heard a soft snort-laugh in the corner from Lapis.
"Sure, I'll take some cereal," I said simply.
"Okeey-dokee, I'll get you all fixed up," Steven replied. Amethyst and I both laughed.
I heard a loud non-human yawn and looked over to see that Lion was inside, too. He was currently stretching.
Then, oddly enough, I saw a glimpse of something a gold-yellow color out in the snow.
A golden flower.
The same golden flower, in fact, from yesterday.
What on Earth? How is it even alive? It's in four inches of snow!!
But still it stood.
And THEN I got creeped out.
The wind blew outside, and it looked normal...
...but then I could swear the flower had a face.
Only for a split second- as soon as it noticed me, the face disappeared.
And then another strange thing happened- the flower burrowed itself into the ground.
Not a normal flower.
I wasn't too sure about what this apparent conscious flower was up to, but...
It wasn't going to be good.
