Chapter Three
What's ya number
Lauren
It'd been a month since I moved into my house. Anthony had been staying with me almost every night because I was scared.
After cleaning up my house, I took a long bath. I slipped on a white sun dress and jean jacket. I put on a gold necklace and a gold bracelet. I let my hair hang and put shades on the top of my head. I walked into the living room. Anthony was sitting on the couch. "You look good sis." he said. "Thank you. You need anything from the store?" I asked him. "Ain't they selling crawfish at the seafood place?" I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know. But I'll see." I got my car keys from the table and left.
I went to Walmart to do a little grocery shopping. I only bought a couple of snacks and microwaveable food for Anthony and I. I paid for the food at the cash register. I placed the bags in the backseat of my car. "Exuse me." I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and smiled at the guy. "Yes?" He smiled at me, showing his pearly whites. "You left a bag and this." he handed me the bag and a hundred dollar bill. "Oh gosh. Thank you so much."
"It ain't no problem." he licked his small pink lips. "Where you bout to go lookin' all beautiful?" I blushed. "I just came to get a few groceries." He smacked his lips. "It look like you bout eighteen. Talkin' bout getting groceries." The guy had light skin, brown eyes, and curly hair. Tattoos covered both of his arms and his neck. "I'm a grown lady. I am twenty one years old." He nodded his head, "Okay grown lady. What's your name?" I couldn't help but to smile. "Lauren Stewart. What's yours?" I asked him. "Quin Harris. It's nice to meet you Lauren." He shook my hand. "Nice to meet you too."
"So, miss Lauren. Can I have your number? I don't want this to be the last time I see you." I searched through my purse for a piece of paper and a pen. I wrote my number down and handed the piece of paper to him. "Be expecting a call tonight. Have a nice day beautiful.' he grabbed my hand and kissed it. I blushed. "You too." Quin opened my car door for me and I eased in. He smiled at me before closing the door. I watched him walk away. Quin had the body of a goddess. He was so handsome. Honestly, I wanted to see him again.
I stopped by the seafood store and got a bag of crawfish for Anthony before going home. He helped me carry the bags into the house. "Girl who got you blushing so much?" Anthony asked me. I knew he could tell I'd been blushing because my cheeks were still glowing. "Nobody." He smacked his lips. "Why you lien?"
"I'm not!" I lied. Anthony shook his head. "Whatever. Let me go eat my crawfish before I have to knock yo head off." he grabbed the bag of crawfish and walked outside. I heard my phone vibrating from my purse. I looked at the caller ID, it was a number that I'd never seen before. "Hello." I answered. "What's up. This Quin." His voice sounded even sexier on the phone. "Oh, hey!" I tried to sound cute. "I couldn't wait until tonight to call you. I wanted to hear yo voice." I smiled. "You know how to make me smile dontcha." I walked into my bedroom. "You deserve to smile. Wish I could see that pretty smile right now." I laid down on the bed. I didn't respond, I just smiled.
'You smilin' now huh?' We both laughed. "Can I ask you sum?" I cleared my throat. "Sure."
"Can I take you out tomorrow night?" I didn't think twice about my response. "Yes you may." Sarah walked into my bedroom. "What time can I pick you up?" he asked. "Will eight o'clock be fine with you?" Quin laughed. "Yes ma'am. That'll be perfect." he mocked my proper voice. "You tryin' to be funny?" I laughed at him. "Nahh, I'm sorry boo. But let me call you later. I'll call you tonight."
"Okay, bye." I hung up. "And who was that?" Sarah laid down beside me. "You so nosey." She smacked her lips. "Bitch, who was that?" I laughed at her. "This guy name Quin. We have a date tomorrow night. I met him today." Sarah clapped her hands excitedly. "Finally! I was starting to worry about you." I rolled my eyes at her. "I don't NEED a man." She looked at me like I was crazy. "Yes you do!" Everybody needs somebody." I nodded my head in agreement. "You're right. Just stop tryin' to play me." Sarah sat on the top of me and started to tickle me. I laughed so hard that I started to get tears in my eyes. "I knew y'all was gay." I heard Anthony's voice. Sarah got off of me and I leaned up. Anthony sat between us. "I couldn't help but to hear that you said, you had a date tomorrow night."
"Why you so nosey?" Sarah looked at him. "Be quiet girl fo' I pop ya." Anthony raised his hand up. "Pop me." Sarah leaned her face towards his hand. "Let me leave y'all two love birds alone." I got up from the bed and walked into the living room. I laid down on the couch. I knew Sarah and Anthony had a thing for each other. They were always calling each other punk and big head, flirting. I was nervous and excited about my date. But I was ready.
