"Colby, what the fuck are you doing in here?" I grab the blanket off of Kian's bed and wrap myself in it.

He chuckles and shakes his head, letting his eyes gaze at the floor.

"How the fuck did you even get in here, I locked the door and it has a keypad lock." I tighten the grip around the blanket.

"I guessed it."

"You just guessed it and it worked?" I roll my eyes.

"It's his birthday." Colby crosses his arms.

Oh shit I didn't even realize that.

"Well I'm trying to change."

"Duh I know that." He laughs. He walks past me and sits on the bed. "Pretend like I'm not here."

"Ew can you get out." I stare at him in disbelief.

He rolls his eyes. Annoyed, for some reason.

"Why don't you want me Candy?"

"Seriously?" I step back from him.

"Yeah seriously." He scoffs. "You're like the only girl who has ever wanted nothing to do with me."

"And that makes you mad doesn't it?" I raise an eyebrow.

He squints at me. "Yeah actually it does."

"Damn. That sucks." I bluntly reply.

Colby groans and lays back on the bed.

Suddenly, a thought pops into my head.

"Hey Colby."

"What." He mumbles quietly.

"Have you ever thought, maybe, I don't want you."

"Duh, that's what this is all about." He cuts me off and is still laying on his back, staring at the ceiling.

"Okay well," I take a couple steps forward. "Have you ever thought, maybe, it's you who wants me?"

I watch his chest and stomach stop moving, indicating he's not breathing.

"Hmm?" I cross my arms and smirk. "I'm right aren't I."

He slowly sits up and his icy eyes look right into me.

There's a small silence, besides the faint yells coming from the backyard.

Our eyes have not left one another's, in maybe 30 seconds to a minute.

His serious face, had slowly curled into a grin.

I squint my eyes at him. What's he planning?

"You're right." He says, standing up. "You are so right Candy."

I raise an eyebrow.

"I want you so bad." He runs his hand through his hair. "Ever since we locked eyes at Coreys birthday."

My mind takes me back to the night, Franny and I are playing bp, and I had locked eyes, with Colby Brock.

"That was a while ago." I mutter.

He nods his head. "The fact that, you don't want me, makes me want you so much more. It's this game you're playing, I'm not good at it."

His words pour out of his mouth like venom, but I have a feeling he means all of it.

He raises his right hand and brushes it against my cheek softly.

"But I cant let you win, your game." He whispers.

He grins, before walking out of the room, closing the door behind him.

It wasn't until that moment that my knees were locked, and my vision was getting blurry. I quickly sit down on the bed and take a deep breath.

If I can't win, then I can't let him win either.

"Why does that shirt look better on you than on me?" Kian laughs. He walks into the living room where I'm sitting on the couch watching tv.

"It's really comfy I'm just thinking about stealing it." I grin at him and he shakes his head before walking to his room to change.

"What are you watching?" Crawford hops on the couch next to me.

"Nightmare before Christmas." I reply. "Gotta get in some halloween spirit without getting scared shitless."

"You don't like scary movies?" He asks.

I shake my head. "Not particularly."

I hear the back door close and in comes Jc, Sam, and Colby.

"Guys!" Crawford yells loudly. "Candy doesn't like scary movies!!"

I roll my eyes. Great.

"Let's put one on then," Jc runs over and jumps on a love sack.

"How did you get that from me saying I don't like scary movies."

"It's quiet simple." Jc begins explaining while Sam and Colby sit on the couch next to us. "I found out you didn't like scary movies, so my brain said, let's put on a scary movies."

"Wow." I can't help but laugh slightly.

"I say we watch Drag me to Hell." Jc puts it on and plays it. "I'll turn the lights off."

"GREAT." I grab the blanket off Crawford and throw it off my head.

"Hey!" Crawford whines and tries getting it back, but I don't let him. "Okay let share it."

I look at Colby out of the corner of my eye, who's staring right at us.

"Sure. You can keep me safe." I smile and he puts the blanket over both of us. I look at Colby again and his jaw is clenched. I wink at him before a loud Kian enters the room.

"What are you guys watching!!!??" Kian screams and jumps on the lovesack next to Jc.

"Drag me to Hell." Jc replies. "Candy doesn't like scary movies soooo."

"Perfect." Kian whispers.

The movie begins, and what I didn't know, was that the night was just starting.
