"Ooohhh my head hurts." I run my hands through my hair and roll over on the couch.

"Well you drank A LOT last night." Franny says from the kitchen.

"I don't remember drinking that much." I try to sit up as she walks over with a plate of scrambled eggs and toast.

"Exactly." She chuckles. "Now,"

I look up at her, wondering where this is going.

"Want to tell me what happened?" She raises an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" My heart starts to race, I know exactly what she wants to hear but I don't want to say it.

"What happened with Colby."

Thoughts and memories from last night rush through my head. Fuck.

"Franny." My eyes wander down to my hands resting in my lap. "I hate myself."

"Why?" She asks.

"Because of what I'm doing." I try to gather my thoughts into words so that Franny can understand what I'm saying.

"Well, what are you doing?" She adjusts her body.

"Pushing him away." I sigh.

"Pushing who away?"

I know Franny knows exactly what's going on and who I'm talking about. So, I know she just wants me to say it for myself.

"Colby." I give in.

"Hmm." Franny puts her arm around me. "You like him, don't you."

I nod my head slowly.

"What about Brennen?" She asks.

"I don't feel what I feel with Brennen like I do with Colby."

"Are you sure it's not just the excitement of Colby? Are you actually into him as a person?" She asks.

"I have no idea. I mean the idea of him causes butterflies to erupt into my stomach and whenever I see him I just want to throw myself at him." I take a deep breath before continuing. "I don't know what it would be like with him, maybe it's the unknown."

"Well Candy, you know Brennen. You know how you feel when you're around him, you know how you feel when you are actually into him." She says. "But only you really know what it's like in here."

She points to my heart.

"Usually a smart person would say, follow your head and what you're thinking. To make a good decision." Franny faces herself in front of me. "But this is definitely a follow your heart situation."

"You think I should follow my heart?" I look up at her and she nods her head.

"And, I think you know what your heart wants." She continues.

"I do." I mumble.

"I think you should call him."

"Now?" My eyes widen.

"Yes now." She says. "Don't wait any longer."

"Thank you Franny." I engulf her into a big warm hug.

"I love you kiddo." She says. "Now go!"

I grab my phone off the coffee table and quickly (but cautiously because of my headache) go to my room.

After closing the door behind me, I sit on my bed and hold my phone in my hands.

How should I approach this?

I think for a couple minutes before dialing the number. The butterflies in my stomach erupt suddenly and I feel like I'm going to vomit.

The ringing on the other line goes on for what seems like forever. I'm about to hang up when the ringing stops and I hear a voice on the other line.

"Candy?"

"Hi Sam."
