"What are you doing today?" I ask Franny as I grab the two pieces of toast from the toaster.

"Ow." I mumble to myself, throwing the hot bread onto the plate and putting my finger in my mouth.

"I'm hanging out with Bobby in a little bit." She says. "We're going to film a mukbang."

"Ouuuu nice!" I smile and grab the peanut butter out of the fridge.

"What about you?" She asks, leaning against the counter.

"I have no idea." I reply. "Might film something."

"What about Brennen?" She asks suddenly, causing me to look up from spreading peanut butter.

"What about him?" I ask. I honestly forgot all about him and I feel bad.

"Are you guys going to hang out again?" She asks.

"I don't know." I reply, looking back down. "Franny."

"What." She replies.

"I think you probably know this, but I don't feel anything towards Brennen anymore like I used to." I reply, slowly beginning to continue making my breakfast.

"Yeah I know." She chuckles. "Besides, I think you're right."

"About?" I raise an eyebrow.

"You guys just being friends." She says. "It's obvious that you and Colby have more of a connection in a romantic way. You and Brennen have that friendship connection."

"Yeah but I think he likes me." I reply.

"You'll just have to talk to him." Franny leaves her spot against the counter and grabs her bag and phone off the island.

"I can't just talk to him." I spin around to face her.

"Why not?" She asks.

"Here let me start how the conversation would go." I clear my throat. "Hey Brennen, I don't like you I like your bestfriend. In fact, I've used YOU to get closer to him."

"Ok shit, Candy you don't have to say it like that at all." Frannys eyes go wide and she laughs.

"That's all I can think about." I turn back to my breakfast.

"I'm sure if you talk to him without all the details, he'll understand." She says as she heads towards the door. "I'll see you later, okay?"

"Okay, have fun!" I smile at her before she leaves.

"Fuck." I mumble to myself. I cut up a banana and put the slices on the pieces of bread.

I've been avoiding Brennen after the kiss at the party and it's been eating me alive, without even consciously realizing it.

I do need to talk to him. I take a bite of my toast and my eyes roll back into my head.

"Fuck that's good." I smile as I take another bite. "Okay."

I dust my hands off and grab my phone.

I need to talk to Brennen.

I put my phone down and nervously wait for a reply

I put my phone down and nervously wait for a reply. Not even a minute later, my phone dings and my heart drops.

As I set my phone down I could feel the nerves rushing through my body.

"I should probably get ready." I say and take another bite of my toast. I roll my eyes back again. "After my breakfast."

After putting on my earrings I look at myself in the mirror before heading out of my room.

I get a text from Brennen, letting me know he's here. The butterflies in my stomach erupt aggressively and suddenly.

I regret texting him. I should have just let him text me eventually and then get it over with. I don't want to do this anymore.

I stand in my kitchen hesitating on going outside, even though he's out there.

"Candy." I begin talking to myself. "Stop being a little bitch and get out there."

I take a deep breath before grabbing my keys and purse and heading out to his car.

I see him in the drivers seat, smiling at me wide.

"Hey!" I say as I open the car door and get in the front seat.

"Hey!" He says as he hugs me.

"I actually need to talk to-" I begin to just jump right into the conversation when Brennen interrupts me.

"Oh wait, hope you don't mind, Colby wanted to tag along and hang out with us!" Brennen points to the backseat and my heart drops.

I slowly turn my head, jaw clenched, and see Colby sitting there with a grin.

"Hey Candy." He says.

"You don't mind right?" Brennen asks.

I put on a fake smile and look at Brennen.

"The more the merrier." I reply before turning back to Colby, who winks at me before we begin driving away.
