A Journalist

Where did he go? You wondered where Dr. Kim went and watched people working with test tubes.

Everyone in the lab can see me from the outside. I'm like those plants they are doing experiments on. You thought.

Then you saw Jin walking with another lady.

I thought Dr. Kim went to find him about jelly. I guess it wasn't the jelly after all. The other person he's with must be the journalist. She looks young. Maybe she's around my age? I could be working like her too if I'm not sick like this.

You watched them talking for a while and she started walking to your direction.

You pretended to be asleep.

"She looks very frail. I don't think it's necessary to use straps to hold her down like that." She was talking to Jin right outside the glass wall.

"She looks like this but she's incredibly clever. She escaped the hospital once and let other patients out too. We are just being cautious." He replied to her.

No, the truth is I had an allergic reaction to a new vaccine they were experimenting on me. Also, I feel so weak right now I can't even tell that I still have straps across my body.

"I will show you to the cafeteria to have lunch now." Jin told her and they walked away.

You waited a few minutes before opening your eyes and saw Dr. Kim came back into the room.

"I'm going to test your reaction again." He said as he injected a green vaccine into your arm.

"Are you sure... right now?" You asked nervously but it was already done.

This time, you felt burning sensation inside your body but you felt very cold.

The machines that was monitoring your heart started to beep crazily.

Your breathing was shallow and you started shaking.

"Y/n. Breath." He told you and touched your left arm.

The monitor beeped slower and you breath normally. He undid all the straps across your body.

"How do you feel now?" He asked you.

"I don't... feel good." You said. DUH!!!! You thought.

"Do you feel hot right now? Or cold?" He asked again.

"I... not hot... not cold." You replied weakly and fainted.

You were back in your old room. Every evening, Dr. Kim would come to give you the green vaccine himself. Every time you were injected, you would have the same reactions.

You felt horrible.

"How do you feel?" He would ask you that every time he saw you.

You didn't answer any of his questions because you didn't want to talk.

You ate your meals and days went by like that.

A week has passed and Jin came in your room.

"Yo! I'm back!" He said.

"You don't have do the water test anymore. Dr. Kim said you can move on to the next part of the sanity tests." He said.

"But this test is only once a week." He continued.

Silence.

"Hey! I'm the only one talking today?" He said.

You were still quiet.

The test he was talking about was just a picture game. Photos were projected on a screen and you just have to tell him what you saw.

"At least you do the tests. I hope you are back to your normal self soon. Aish. I feel like I'm talking to those crazy patients." He kind of shouted.

"Oh and the journalist will visit you tomorrow morning. She's supposed to go back yesterday but a blizzard came. The weather reported that it might last about 4 days. She said she wanted to meet you so I said okay." He said.

Evening came and Dr. Kim was about to leave your room. You were in a daze because the vaccine's side effect just wore off. You had your hands on your heart to feel your heartbeat calming down.

"When you meet the journalist... Never mind." He said and closed the door.

Why didn't he say what he wanted to say? When you meet the journalist... don't tell about the experiments? Say nice thing about him?
