Leaving

I fell asleep?

You woke up and with the picture book in your hands. For a while, you stared at the motionless flower field on the book cover before deciding to open it. 

Just landscape paintings. I guess it was all a dream.

*Creak* Yoongi opened the door and walked inside with a food tray.

"Yoongi." You called him, but he ignored you.

"Remember when you told me to ignore things that are not normal, so I can leave faster? Well, I didn't. I've been sneaking out at night. I went to the library." You said and showed him the picture book. He was taken aback by the sudden confession.

"I already know." He said casually.

"You knew?" You asked.

"Yeah. I'm also the chief security officer." He said and you gave him a skeptical look.

"They made a mistake on my name tag and I'm too lazy to change it." He explained, but you still don't believe him.

"I know that the journalists gave you a room pass-code on a piece of note." He said.

"You know everything? Why didn't you tell anyone?" you asked.

"It didn't seem like you were trying to escape so I didn't bother." He said.

"Yoongi... You're actually a kind person." You said and ate your food.

"The strange things you've been seeing is normal in this hospital. We just don't think about it, so we can live a normal life." He said and walked out.

When Yoongi brought you lunch, you asked him to put the picture book back in the library for you. You listened to Yoongi's advice and stopped thinking about what you discovered in the past few weeks. 

Days passed and Jin visited you at 2 PM.

"Hello~ I have something amazing to tell you~" He said and gave you a pack of jelly.

"New jelly flavor? Gingerbread flavor. I don't think it will taste good." You said and gave it back to him. 

"What do you mean? You haven't try it yet so you can't say that. And say thank you when someone gives you something." He said after he put the package back in your hands.

"Thank you for the jelly." You whispered as you opened the package and put a piece of jelly into your mouth.

"And the jelly is a gift. I haven't told you what's the amazing news is." He went on.

The jelly tasted like ginger at first, but the ginger flavor disappeared as you chewed. Your face showed that it tasted weird. 

"Y/n, you can go home! You are discharged from the hospital today!" He said joyfully.

"I'm- I'm cured?" You asked.

"Um. No, you still have to get a vaccine every 6 months to keep your symptoms in check. But other than that, all your sanity test results showed that you are normal. You can live your everyday life without any problem. So, you do not have to stay anymore." He said.

"Really?" You asked because you weren't sure. You knew how determined Dr. Kim was to find a cure.

"Yes!" He said.

Jin gave you your old clothes and bag. You checked your phone, but it had no battery left. You changed your clothes and threw your bag away because it was all messy with candies all melted inside. You planned to buy a new bag when you get your first job anyway. After putting your phone and wallet in the pocket of your jeans, you walked out of the hospital. 

Jin came to say good bye to you.

"Yoongi said good bye, too. He's not here because he finally get a day off and he's using every minutes to sleep." Jin said.

"Dr. Kim must be busy." You said.

"Oh. He said he will see you soon anyway. So...yeah. Ah. I brought a new jelly for you. Original flavor. Yoongi and I will miss you talking a lot." He said and handed you a plastic bag with a package of jelly inside. 

"Ahaha. I thought you two don't like me talking. And thank you for getting me a new pack of jelly. Original is my favorite flavor. I will come and say hi in the next 6 months. Thanks again for being my friend during my stay here. Say that to Yoongi, too." You said and gave Jin a hug. Then you got inside a taxi.

Jin kept waving at you until you lost sight of him. You didn't get to know Jin and Yoongi that long and you guys haven't really talked. But they were there when you were bored and had to stay inside your room everyday. You felt a little bit sad not being able to see them again. As for Dr. Kim, you wished you could see him before you go. You felt very happy to get away from that hospital, but it also felt like you were leaving someone behind.
