1:34 AM

You entered 584#202

*Click* You unlocked the door and sneaked out of your room. You got inside the elevator and went up to the 7th floor. You were going to explore the library tonight!

When you got there, you found the door ajar.

Someone's here at 1 AM? You thought and peeked into the library. You didn't see anyone so you went inside. As you walked farther into the room, you heard a book fell on the 2nd floor.

Someone is really here! You thought.

You hid behind the nearest bookcase and waited. Then, you heard more books fell on the 2nd floor, so you looked for a place to hide. You decided that it would be safest to hide behind the grand wooden staircase. As you hide, you looked up to the 2nd floor.

Is that mist up there? How can mist form inside a library? You thought.

"I'm not going." You heard a male voice.

That's Dr. Kim's voice! He sounded out of breath. Is he okay? You thought.

"Come back to the lake so we can save everyone." A female voice said.

"You're not trying to save anyone, but yourself." He said.

You crawled out of your hiding spot to see who he was talking to but you found him standing alone. He had one hand holding onto a bookshelf and another hand clutching his chest.

"You're abandoning us? Abandoning your people to die... like your parents?" A female voice said.

"I'm not abandoning them! I found another way to save them." He said and walked towards the stairs. You quickly crawled back to your hiding spot. He was walking down the stairs now.

He's so close! Is he heading home now? It's 3:15 AM It's almost morning. You thought while looking at your watch.

He staggered towards the door. Mists started to form around the room and frosts formed rapidly on the windows.

What's happening? Is it that cold outside? Is it warm in here? You wondered because the vaccine prevented you from feeling temperatures.

He stopped walking and rolled up the shirt sleeve on his right arm. His skin was glowing and there were sparkles of light around him. Then, he took something out from the front pocket of his shirt. It was glinting and it was green. He held it up and put it on his right arm.

Is that ICC4? Is he... injecting it into himself?! You covered your mouth and tried not to gasp.

You watched him knelt down and breathed heavily. He was sweating so much, his face was glistening under the moonlight. Tears rolled down your cheeks. He was clutching his chest like how you clutched your chest when you felt the burns from the vaccine.

He was in that position for a while until he calmed down. The mist and the sparkles disappeared as he walked out of the library.

He was talking alone and he used the vaccine. Does he have Ice Lake Syndrome like me? Is he going to die too? When I was injected with ICC4 for the second time, I panicked and he told me to calm down by breathing. He was so sure the vaccine would work. Did he test that on himself first before giving it to me? He was nice to me and he was worried about me when I didn't eat. He brought me to the garden to comfort me. He asked me how I felt every evening when I got the shot and I never answer him. I stopped talking to him. Did he go through everything I went through? I was so selfish. You thought and you sobbed.

You haven't move an inch since he left and the sunlight started shining into the library.

I've got to go back. It's almost 7 AM You thought and sneaked back to your room.
