Gone

The next morning...

You were in your bedroom and Jungkook was checking the wounds on your arms.

"Maybe 3 more days and you don't need the bandages anymore." Jungkook told you.

3 Days later...

Jungkook went home and you were removing bandages on your own in the living room.

"Amazing... They are all gone like nothing happened." You whispered, feeling your skin. 

"You're right! That's amazing! They're all gone! I can't believe it!" A tiny person with wings appeared, followed by two more.

"That's wonderful." Another one said.

"You're here again." You said, looking at them.

"Yes, we are here again. We came to check if you are still alive. We couldn't think of other ways to stop the prince. Did you talk to him?" The other one said.

"No." You said.

"Why not?" She asked.

"Because I wasn't sure..." You said.

"Y/n. Are you talking alone?" Jungkook came back and asked you.

"No, I was talking to the fairies. Oh. Where did they go?" You looked for the fairies. 

"I know you're mentally ill, but..." He said.

Mentally ill? He doesn't know about fairies' illness? You thought.

"Why are you back?" You asked.

"I bought water this morning, but I forget to move them up here. Were you talking to someone? You're suspicious." He asked.

"I wasn't talking to humans. Don't worry." You said.

"No wonder he chose you to be the test subject." He said.

"What? What are you trying to say?" You asked, getting up from the sofa.

"You are losing your mind." He said moving boxes into the kitchen.

Then, it started to snow.

"You were afraid that Dr. Kim would be caught doing illegal experiments. That was why you threatened me not to talk." You said, standing by the living room's window and looking at the snowing falling outside.

"Yes, I was. But, now I think he didn't care if you know because you're delulu. Nobody would listen to you anyway." He said.

"And Ice Lake Project wasn't illegal. It was just canceled by the hospital." He continued as he put the last box down.

"Why was it canceled?" You asked, listening tentatively.

"Because the project wasn't Dr. Kim's project. It was started by his adoptive father, Dr. Albert Haines. The Haines family used to own and run this hospital. Until Dr. Albert died and Hyuna inherited the hospital. The hospital was then run by a committee of the board of directors with Hyuna as one of the members. They decided to stop funding the project and cancelled it due to lack of progress. But, they didn't know that Dr. Kim was his assistant and he continued the research on his own... in secret." Jungkook said.

"You sure know a lot for an intern." You said.

"Dr. Kim came up with many vaccines, but he never tested on human before. So, seeing that I'm a top student in human physiology, he personally invited me to join his project. He's a genius and I would do anything to see his success." He said.

But, we're not human. We're fairies. Maybe a fairy's body functions the same way as a human? You thought. Then, you felt Jungkook's breath near your right ear.

"Now, you are deep in the water. People might not take you seriously, but remember that if you mention even one word to anyone, I will be personally take care of you." He whispered into your ear.

"I got that!" You shouted and quickly walked away from Jungkook. You entered Dr. Kim's bedroom to go to your bedroom and heard Jungkook left the house. At the same time, you saw Dr. Kim closing curtains in his bedroom.
