The Queen's Fragments

Or so you thought.

The leafy door withered into earth the moment you set your foot in it and you tumbled. Standing up and brushing dirt off your hands, you sighed. Your wings hung in an awkward position, looking dead. Your clothes dirty. You searched the dry garden for some time and noticed your surroundings getting dim. Night time was approaching. With no hesitation, you walked into the tunnel and out to the hospital's garden. When you spot a fountain, you climbed inside and submerged yourself in the water.

Castle. Go back. Go back.

You hoped to magically teleport to Tae's bedroom.

Your felt your muscles locked.

Oh- !!

You reached your limit to hold your breath.

"It's alright. It's alright." You saw the queen's face. She was speaking to you with a soft voice.

"I know it was an accident." She said with a gentle smile. Her left hand on her right, setting on her chest.

You looked pass the queen's shoulder and saw a man behind her. He had his arms up to cover his face as if to shield himself from something and he was super still like a stone.

"Look here." The queen said, showing you her hands. 

A tiny sapling slowly sprouted from her palm. Its colour was light green like her dress. Fresh and warm. You looked at it with interest and relaxed your shoulders.

*The sound of breaking 

You looked up behind the queen and saw that the man had fell and shattered. The inner part of his broken pieces shined like ice. 

Oh man. Oh man.

Your eyes met with his. Something scared the hell out of him and it showed on his face.

"That fountain.. it used to be a well and a basin of eternity." The queen spoke, pulling your attention back to you. Her face remained calm and her body unmoved, but not rigid.

"The water never dries and it never mix with anything. It.. also has no source." She said and you followed her gaze. She was looking at the broken fountain of purity. 

I'm in the castle's basement! I successfully got here?

You thought and inspected yourself. 

I- I'M NAKED!!

You sped to the nearest corner of the room and sat down with your knees up, facing the two adjacent walls. Your hands on your shoulders, hunching forward and squeezing tight to hide your body.

How I wanna cry right now.

You felt your wings brushing your back.

"The water is you. You changed form." You heard realization in the queen's voice. 

"This is not a good thing. The king must not know of this." The queen spoke in a low voice with urgency.

*Sounds of fabric and silence.

You took a quick glimpse and saw her rushing out.

Why can't the king know? Is the queen plotting something bad?

You looked back at the fountain and thought about what the queen said.

I am the water in that fountain? So I wasn't from it. I simply just changed form and that's bad? Why?
