Tenn and Riku had finally arrived at the apartment building they were told they would be living in now, since they would be going to a new school, although they didn't expect it, or to be moving to a whole new town alone.
They'd be lying if they said they didn't get a bit lost on their way to the apartment building, since they had no idea where anything in the town was, except for the Train Station and a few shops they had passed on their way. So they were relieve to have finally found the apartment building after all of that.
As soon as they had entered the building, Tenn already had a bit of uneasy feeling, not exactly from the small space of the lobby, and the building itself, but because the apparent owner of the building seemed a bit, strange, to put it simply. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he just couldn't really see himself trusting them, let alone really wanting to interact with them.
Riku on the other hand, had began talking to the owner, mainly about where their apartment is, and when they can start getting settled in. The owner told them they just had to sign a few papers, and that their apartment is on the 3rd floor.
After signing the papers, and getting the key to the apartment, they made their way up to the third floor. Their apartment wasn't exactly big, but it was big enough for two people to live in it, with a small bathroom, kitchen, and living room as well.
While they began unpacking their bags they had brought with them, Tenn noticed something. "Hey..Riku, did you read anything on the papers before we signed them?" he asked Riku who was still unpacking his bags. "Um..not really?" Riku replied hesitantly.
Tenn sighed as a reply, realizing they probably just signed something they should've thoroughly read before signing, seeing as this building already was making him uneasy, now they were stuck living there, since they had signed the papers to live there already, so it was to late now.
Once they had finished unpacking, they had some time to finally relax before they headed to bed for school the next day. Neither of them really understood still why they suddenly had to move to a different town, as well as start attending a new school, but there wasn't much they could do now, so with that, they decided to watch some TV for now.
"Tenn-nii, what do you think school will be like?" Riku asked Tenn as he was looking through the channels on TV. "I'm not sure, but I don't have a very good feeling about this building already..the owner seemed..strange." Tenn replied to him, still looking at the TV.
"He didn't seem that bad Tenn-nii!" Riku said. "I don't know why, but I just have the feeling they don't seem like someone we should just trust easily." Tenn replied. Ever since they got to their apartment, he still had the uneasy feeling he had when they entered the building, and he couldn't help but feeling like the owner wasn't someone to be trust, but Riku didn't seem to be aware of it.
After finally stopping on a somewhat interesting channel, Tenn noticed something he hadn't before, and that was that they hadn't seen any other tenants, let alone really any noise from the other floors. It could be because of how late it was, but that didn't really help Tenn feel any less uneasy.
"Tenn-nii..it's getting pretty late, shouldn't we get going to bed now?" Riku asked tiredly. Tenn looked at the time and noticed they had been watching TV for quite a while now, and Riku was right, it was pretty late, and they should get going to bed, or they'd end up waking up late on their first day of school. "Yeah, let's go to bed." he replied, turning off the TV and getting up.
Since the apartment wasn't very big, they shared a room, which had a bunk bed so there was a bit more space in the already small bedroom. They quickly got changed into their pajamas, and Riku climbed into the bunk bed once he did, leaving Tenn with the bottom bunk.
Tenn thought back to the question Riku had asked him earlier as he went to bed, he wondered what the school would be like himself, but he decided to worry about that tomorrow, it probably wouldn't be as bad as their apartment building, and maybe he was just being too cautious.
Morning had finally arrived, and it was time for them to get ready for school, although, they weren't told if they had to wear uniforms or not, much to their dismay, and to add more to it, they weren't given one even if they did. So reluctantly, they had to go in their casual clothes, and hopefully not get lectured for being unprepared, even though it wasn't their faults exactly.
While they were leaving the apartment, Tenn still hadn't seen any other people there besides the owner, and still no noise from the rest of the floors, which made him wonder if there even were anyone else living there besides them. It didn't help that as they left to go outside, Tenn felt like as if they were being watched, but the only other person there was the owner, making him feel even more unsettled.
Not wanting to think about it any further, Tenn decided it'd be for the best to just not bring it up to Riku, since Riku obviously didn't see anything wrong with the owner, or the building. Instead, he decided to focus on heading to a shop near the Train Station before getting on the train to go to school, since it was a bit of a far walk, which would probably make them late if they did so.
Luckily for them, there was a small convenience store not far from their apartment, and not that far of a walk from the Train Station. There also seemed to be some students going into the store, most likely for snacks and drinks before school like they were.
As they entered, they saw a strange scene going on, it appeared to be a boy with black hair pulled up in a small ponytail with heterochromia eyes, the left being blue, and the right being orange. He seemed to be talking to the cashier rather bluntly in a mix of English and Japanese, which seemed to be startling the Cashier so much, they were handing him some money so he'd leave them alone.
They also noticed a girl who seemed to have plum to pink like ombre hair, and purple eyes standing next to the boy. She was also talking in a bit of a mix of English and Japanese, but mostly English, all the while happily taking the money from the startled Cashier.
Riku suddenly started tugging Tenn away from the scene, which confused him, but followed him to the other side of the store. "Tenn-nii, I think that girl has a knife.." Riku said quietly. Looking towards the girl again, Tenn noticed she really did have a knife, although not very visible, you could see it still.
Not wanting to be there very long, especially when someone there had a weapon, Tenn and Riku hurriedly grabbed what they wanted and made their way to the Cashier so they can pay for their items and leave.
To their relief, the boy and girl seemed to have stopped startling the Cashier and were now standing outside, but the Cashier still seemed pretty startled while they were paying for their items. They felt pretty bad for them, since they were just trying to do their job, just to end up having to deal with two students causing trouble early in the morning.
On their way out of the store, it seemed like the girl with the knife was staring at them, even as they walked away and towards the station, which made Riku seem a bit anxious to get away from the store, and away from the boy and girl. The boy on the other hand didn't seem pay much mind as they left, which made Tenn a little relieved.
Once they reached the Train Station and paid for their tickets, they had some time to relax and wait for the Train so they can get to school. While they sat and wait, Tenn couldn't help but think there was something weird about this town, and he could tell Riku was becoming a bit more anxious while they waited. He knew this was gonna be a long school year, and there was definitely something strange going on, but who or what what was causing it, was still unknown.
