23. Battle Royale

"What are you doing here?", Hill asked as she approached Bucky. She looked at him as he watched the contestants standing near the ring.

"Is there a problem?", he asked his eyes still focused on them.

"No, not an issue. You can watch them fight from here." Bucky didn't bother replying to her, maybe because he never asked for her permission. "Well looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed.", Hill said, taking a dig at him.

Bucky rolled his eyes but he didn't care what she thought. Jen was his concern for now. His only concern and he hated it. He had to see her fight today. After all he was the one who had trained her.

He watched Jen walk around, his heart beating fast everytime she looked his way. He was glad that she couldn't see him. He didn't want to show her that she bothered him.

"Rooting for someone?", Hill asked, bringing Bucky's attention back to reality.

"Was before. Don't care now."

"Jen?", she guessed and saw a smile forming on Bucky's face.

Bucky looked at Hill, still smiling at her. "That obvious?", he asked

"You are just getting too easy to read.", she said snorting at him.

"OK girls, let me read out the instructions for you."

Jen looked at the speaker from which Agent Hill's voice was coming from. All the girls too stopped in their tracks to listen carefully.

"This will be a Battle Royale. No rules, no penalties. Naomi will fight Jen and Debra will fight with Tasha." Jen looked at Naomi and gave her a nod. Naomi returned the gesture by smiling at her.

"The winners from each round will fight against each other in the final round. Jen and Naomi will go first.", the voice declared.

Jen nodded and started getting ready for the fight. She started wrapping her hand wraps tightly around her fingers and so did Naomi. Naomi. Ah, from the medical department. Knew I had seen her before.

Naomi walked over to Jen with a smirk on her face. "Battle Royale.", she said. "So more like fight till you die." The referee whistled gesturing them to get in the ring to which Naomi obliged. "Jen, right? I hope you survive", she said taunting her.

Jen watched as Naomi walked away with utter pride. Overconfidence huh? Honey you have no idea who you are messing with.

"She is good.", Hill commented watching Jen fight. "Thanks to you, ofcourse."

"There is only so much you can teach a person. This is not me. It is all her."

"Nevertheless what you did can be considered cheating."

"Haven't you heard what they say? Everything is fair in love and war", Bucky said chuckling. How stupid is that and honestly me too for believing in it.

"So what was it for you two? Love or war?"

"Both", Bucky said letting out a heavy sigh. "Probably love for me and her,  just war."
