Steve shook his head in confusion trying to figure out why Natasha said "She deserves better", until he saw her pointing at the ground. Steve looked down and saw the ring and he sighed heavily. "Natasha it's not what you think it is." But before Steve could even explain, Natasha was already walking towards the door to leave. "Natasha please, just listen to me."

"I'll be damned if it's something else, Steve. You're married to another woman. One that loves you and cherishes you. One that is laying in YOUR bed, wondering where you are. One that is probably beating herself up wondering where she went wrong. Meanwhile you're over here hooking up with a woman you barely know! Steve, I have morals and one of them is not bedding a married man." Natasha turns back to look at the man that she wanted, but with a scowl on her face she opens the door that leads to her room. Walking inside she closes the door behind her and moves to the bed. She was far too exhausted to call a cab and not wanting to admit it, she felt hurt. Flopping into the king sized bed, Natasha burrows deeply into the covers and lays there staring up at the ceiling. "All the good ones are married Nat. You should know this by now. You're never going to find a guy that will love you." Feeling tears beginning to build up in her eyes, Natasha flips to her left side and stares at the wall, but her eyes move down and glance at the door that leads to Steves room. With small hope, Natasha wished that Steve would come in and crawl up next to her, but she made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with him and she hated herself for that.

Steve stood in his empty room and closed his eyes. He had truly messed up and couldn't think of a way to fix it. Everything Natasha said was partly true, but Sharon knew where he was. Sharon didn't love-love him or cherish him; just like how he didn't love-love or cherish her. Their marriage was toxic, yet to Sharon it was perfect. She had a man that wouldn't say no to her, that would go to the end of the world for her, that would obey every command because, if not God only knows what would happen. Steve bent down and picked up the ring and held it between his thumb and index finger. "Stupid ring. You're a constant reminder of me being trapped in a marriage that doesn't work." Setting it down on the night stand, Steve glanced at the door that lead to Natashas room and he pressed his lips together. He wanted to talk to her and explain everything. He wanted to feel Natasha wrapped in his arms. He wanted to tell her that tonight was the first night in a long time where he felt wanted and desired. Closing his eyes briefly, he thought of what he should do and the only thing that made sense was to talk to Natasha. Walking over to the door, Steve wiggled the doorknob gently to see if it was locked and to his surprise it was not. It was almost like Natasha wanted him to come in. Slowly opening the door, he found it dark, but the light from his room lit up the bed and he saw Natasha laying there. With a bite to his lip, he went to head back in his room, but before heading back in his eyes caught a glimpse of Natasha and he saw her emerald orbs staring back at him.

Natasha wanted to look away, but she already knew that Steve caught her looking at him. With a soft sigh she sat up and looked at him. The way the light from his room hit him made Steve look a bit more desirable and she hated it. "I'm upset with you, Steve. What you did was wrong and you didn't even stop it. You allowed me to kiss you back. You allowed me to fool around with you. You...you made me feel things that I haven't felt in years. I'm upset with you because you lied. I...I don't want to see you and yet here we are." Natasha crosses her arms over her chest and glared at Steve. She felt her face burn with anger, but she felt her heart long for his tender touches. "So what do you want? My time to allow you to explain yourself? Me to willingly let you sleep with me even though there's another woman? What do you want?" Natasha let out a sigh again realizing she was being far too hotheaded and she shook her head. "I'm sorry. I'm just..."

Steve kept himself in the doorway while he watched Natasha angrily toss her hands around and then cross them over her chest. "You're mad. I know. I can't expect you to be feeling any other way right now. Natasha...I want you explain every little thing to you. I want you to know that what I was doing, it wasn't because I wanted to hurt Sharon. I want you to know that what I was doing  was because, for once in this whole marriage with her, that moment with you made me feel different. I want to explain it to you because, you deserve to know." Steve too, crossed his arms over his chest before looking down at the ground. "I'll also understand if you don't want to hear it either, but I would appreciate it if you did." Glancing up, he saw Natasha glaring hard at him and he took that as a sign to leave and just as he was about to fully step back into his room he heard her voice.

"I want to know it all."
