The halls at Tony's office were quiet, too quiet. Steve had been spotted pacing back and forth in front of Natashas office. She was 20 minutes late and Steve tried not to worry, but all he could think about was Natasha getting harmed by Sharon. Of course Steve has no idea where Natasha lived and her phone was no longer in service, so he couldn't call her. Still pacing, Steve turned his head when he heard someone clear their throat. "Na- oh...Tony."

Tony stood there with his arm's crossed over his chest. "Why are you pacing in front of Natashas office?" Furrowing his brows, he glanced at the clock on the wall and he then looked back at Steve. "She isn't here, is she?" Seeing the shake of his friends head, Tony rubbed his face in annoyance. "Where is she?"

Steve tried to remain calm while getting ready to tell Tony the story. "Sharon happened. Tony, I brought Natasha to the hotel last night and..." Immediately he was stopped. "You didn't? Steve...damn it! I told you to stay away from her!" Tony approached Steve and pushed him in the chest. "Sharon got ahold of her didn't she?" Steve nodded his head trying to keep his calm, but he was far from it. "Tony, she hacked Natashas phone and disconnected it. I can't get ahold of her and I don't know where she lives. I'm worried."

Tony saw the genuine concern in Steves eyes and he rolled his own. "God damn it. I have her address, but you can't go...not alone at least. If Sharon did anything to Natasha, shes either waiting it out until we get there to do more damage or shes already on the run." Tony motioned Steve to follow him to his office where he pulled up Natashas file. "This is her address. I'll go with you, you're going to need someone to watch your back." Steve smiled softly and patted Tony's shoulder. "Thanks."

The two men soon set off to Natashas house and while they drove, Tony had millions of questions. "Was it worth it?" "Absolutely, Tony. She's the one, I can feel it. I-..." Tony smiled while he glanced at Steve. "You love her, don't you?" Steve nodded and stared out the window watching the trees grow thicker. "I do Tony, I really do. She's everything to me. The way she smiles her eyes smile too. Her laugh, it's amazing. Her kisses, they're intoxicating. I've fallen in love with her in a span of 2 days, not even. But I love her and I want to protect her."

Tony nodded understanding where Steve was coming from. He was the same way with Pepper and now it's worse because of Morgan, his daughter. He knew what it was like to fall in love and to really be loved. He knew what it was like to want to protect the ones you love and give the biggest sacrifice just to make sure they're safe. Tony knew it far too well, but he also knew the pain that came with it. "Steve, I'll make sure she's safe...especially with you."

Soon, they turned up the gravel hill and Tony's eyes widened. "Wow...she's got herself a nice little place. It's tucked back in the woods...easy place for a murder to happen." Steve turned and hissed at Tony. "Sorry, too soon, too soon." The car was parked and the two of them slowly made their was up the stairs to the house. Steve spotted Natashas heels and he knew she was there. Slowly, Steve turned the knob to her door and opened it, only to be greeted with a mess of papers, books, shattered glass, and so much more.

"Nat?" Steve walked in and looked around, Tony close behind watching around making sure that Sharon didn't come out and attack, but so far nothing. Steve walked in a bit more and he saw a trail of blood coming from a small den. "Nat?!" Steve ran in and there he saw his pretty little red head slumped against a coffee table and blood pooling out from her stomach. "Nat..." Steve fell to his knees and looked back at Tony. "Tony! Help! She needs help!" Steve looked back at Natasha and he cupped her face. "My love, I'll fix this. Baby, stay with me."

Tony soon ran in and looked at Natasha and Steve and he gulped. "Steve, we have visitors walking up the driveway; they're armed and they look pissed. We need to get her out of here and fast." Steve turned to look at Tony and he furrowed his brows. "Who..." Steve then shook his head and lifted the table to let the cuff slide off the leg and he scooped up Natasha. "Tony upstairs...we need to go now." With a nod of his head, the three of them were upstairs, hiding from whoever was entering Natashas home.

Natasha felt warmth and she soon took to the body that was producing it. She took a deep breath and she smelled Steves scent and her eyes flickered open. "St-..." but nothing more could come out. Instead she burrowed her face into his chest and weakly pointed to her bedroom, hoping that he would understand what she was trying to say. Her eyes closed again and this time she found herself going into a deeper sleep than before.

Steve looked down and he saw Natasha going paler, which made him worry a bit more. He followed to the door thy Natasha pointed and he saw her bedroom. "Babe, now is not the time for sex." But he knew that wasn't the case because, he saw the window that was open and it was their only escape route. Tony went to the window and opened it a bit more. There were no big burley men lurking around outside, so he motioned them to get out.

Steve climbed down with Natasha over his shoulders and his feet hit the ground. Tony followed as well and they set foot back to the car. Once approaching the car, gunshots rang through the air and Tony hissed. "You better not be shooting at my car, buddy!" Before another word was said, Tony got in and looked in the backseat to see Steve holding Natasha. "She needs medical attention...I know where she'll be safe and get the help she needs."

Steve knew exactly where Tony was going to take them. While gunshots kept ringing in the air and bullets hitting the windshield, Tony drove out like a bat out of Hell and went down to the one place he didn't want to take Natasha too, and that was SHIELD headquarters.
