A Few Drinks More (Steve)

Natasha.

Steve couldn't help but smile more when he heard her name. It was beautiful, just like her. Her dirty blonde hair with big green eyes to pair with it, all part of a small 5'4" height. Her peony pink lips that curved upward perfectly made Steve's heart beat in a way that it never has. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Natasha." His hands soon shoved deeply into his pockets as he began to sway from one foot to the other, trying to think of words to say.

It wasn't long when Steve felt Sam nudge him in the shoulder. "Why don't you come back to the table and bring your new friend. I'm sure she'd like to sit down and talk instead of standing her awkwardly." Steve glanced at Sam and nodded quickly. "Oh yeah...uhm, Natasha...do you want to sit with us?" Seeing her smile a bit wider and her little quick bod of her head, they began to walk back to the table. Once they all sat down, Steve circled the rim of his beer trying to think of conversation starters.

Like always, Sam came in and saved the day. "So, Natasha...I'm guessing that's your name since Steve called you it; where are you from?" Steve glanced from Sam to Natasha and pressed his lips together. "I grew up in Ru...Richmond, Virginia, but I moved to New York a few years ago. Now I'm just trying to find a place to call home." Steve smiled hearing her voice. It was raspy and soothing; a sound that Steve could get used to. "That's cool, I hope the Hamptons work out for you then." With a soft smile, Steve finished his beer and waved a waitress over for her to get him another.

Hours passed, Sam left not too long after their first beer, and Steve and Natasha were talking up a storm. Steve couldn't help but love the sound of her laugh, the way her eyes sparkled, the way she moved her torso and arms to a song she liked; and most importantly the way she focused on him like he was the only man in the room. "Last call for drinks!" Steve jumped hearing the bartender and he sighed softly. He knew this night would end quickly and unfortunately it did. "I gotta close out my tab, stay here?" Seeing Natasha nod her head like an obedient child, Steve left her alone and went to the bar. "Steve Rogers...and also...can I pay for her tab?" Steve pointed back towards Natasha and seeing the bartender shrug, both tabs were paid and the cards were back in his hand.

As Steve was walking back to the table he stopped and looked at his phone. 10 missed calls and 25 unread messages, all from Sharon. Opening the text he read everything she wrote and he shook his head in disgust. He knew right then and there what he wanted to do, and that was to spend more time with Natasha, he just needed to lie to his wife first and get her out of the way.

To: Sharon
From: Steve
Hey...I had a few too many drinks tonight. I'm going get a cab and go crash at a hotel near by. I'll see you when I get home. Sleep well and I love you. Goodnight.

After hitting send and getting Sharon slightly out of the way, Steve walked back to the table where Natasha sat perfectly and he handed her card back. "I paid for your tab. Consider it a welcome to the area gift. Listen, we've both consumed way too much alcohol to drive to our homes, why don't you catch a cab with me to a hotel and you can get yourself a room and I can do the same?" Seeing her eyes light up and feeling her hand hit his chest, she smiled softly. "I think that's a great idea, just can we stop and get some food? I'm STARVING!"

Steve couldn't help but laugh a bit as he saw Natasha rub her stomach. Without realizing it, Steve placed his hand on hers and they stared into each other's eyes for what felt like forever, but as soon as she removed her hand from his chest, his hand left her stomach and they both laughed. "We can get room service, I promise!" Steve saw Natasha furrow her brows and cock her head. "I thought you said I was getting my own room?!" Steve laughed and nodded his head, "Oh you are! But you can eat with me in mine." Seeing the smile grow on her face, Steve wasn't sure if it was because, she was actually happy or she was a bit intoxicated. Either way, he knew that the two of them would be sharing more than just room service and their stories in the room and oddly, Steve wasn't ashamed of it.
