"dabiiiiiiiiiii," a lively feminine voice called through the phone as the ravenette propped his upper half up against the bed head.

"what do you want, psycho bitch?" he spoke lowly, afraid he might wake you.

"oh come on, meanieeee. we haven't seen you in ages, where ya been?" the blonde girl questioned with a cheery tone, spinning a knife between her fingers.

"i've been busy recruiting," he lied smoothly, twirling a strand of your hair.

"ooooh. find anyone cute? wait let me guess, its... a... girrrrrl? i can't wait to get a taste of their blood!!!" himiko giggled.

unfortunately, this didn't sit well with the male who tightened his free fist. if she ever...

"i said, what the fuck do you want?" this time, he spoke in a harsher tone — snarling into the phone.

"okay okayyyy. there's gonna be a meeting tonight, hand-man wants us all there."

internally groaning, he forced his eyes shut, irritated that his time with you was being interrupted. he had only just reunited with you and now the villains were getting in the way. he still needed to help you remember.

"whatever. i'll be there."

before she could respond, he hung up and placed his phone on the bedside table. shifting his body to better comfort you, who was still resting against his chest, he saw two kittens pop up from underneath the blanket, curling up to their owner.

— — —

"come on, [name]!" A red-haired child waved at you from afar, wearing a boyish grin.

he seemed to be a mere child, only four or five years of age. he had bright red fluffy hair sitting on top of his face, his pearlies exposed as he grinned widely. confused — your feet began moving on their own, chasing after the boy as your arms were raised like the wings of a plane.

what's happening to me? why can't I move?

"gotcha!" a young girl's voice escapes your mouth as your tiny body lurches forward, colliding with the redhead's.

giggling, your small form rolls off the boy, and you celebrate your victory, frolicking through the flower field as a pair of icy-blue eyes watched. the two of you danced under the blue sky as the sun bathed your skin with warmth. your [H/C] locks danced in the wind as your [E/C] shined brightly, filled with excitement and pure joy.

this isn't so bad...

you watched a small warm hand cover your smaller one, tugging you towards someplace. the sound of a soft laugh filled your ears as you took your eyes off your intertwined hands, looking up to see his face again. but he was no longer tugging you along, and his hands were now cold like ice. he had stopped moving, actually, the both of you had.

glancing forward, you see a tall thin shadow — a silhouette. towering over the two of you, you began to feel weightless. you look around to see that the boy had disappeared and you were left alone, falling.

— — —

gasping for air, you abruptly sat up still dazed from your sleep. you raise a hand to your mouth - coughing aggressively, it felt like your lungs had collapsed.

that boy again...

"morning, sweet cheeks," a voice broke through your thoughts from the door as your memories catch up with you.

blushing a deep red, you look up to see dabi still shirtless and holding chiba, the sight making your throat run dry. "w-what time is it?" You felt your heart thump against your ribcage, beating so fast you thought it was going to jump out of your throat.

"almost one," he says, running his fingers through his messy hair. "i'm leaving."

hearing those words made your heart drop.

But why? It's not like I even know him... and plus, this is better since tenko-kun is staying over.

"so the unwanted guest has finally found his way out," you chuckle half-heartedly, trying to mask your disappointment.

only the ravenette saw right through it, like always.

"don't be like that, doll face, i'll be back soon," his winks flirtatiously, his eyes dancing with excitement.

"actually I think it's better that you don't..." you say gently, picking yourself up from the mattress and removing its covers — the shimura had a keen sense of smell, one that would definitely know you had an unexpected guest. "i have a friend staying over tonight."

there was a moment of silence between the two. dabi already knew who it was, but he needed to hear her say it.

"who?"

"tenko-kun."

the playfulness in his eyes was replaced with anger and jealousy, served with a cold side of sadness. that fucking piece of shit. it hurt him, to hear you speak so fondly of another person, let alone a guy — who would be staying overnight. he blamed himself, it was him who left you behind, and now you've somehow lost your memories, and it's like his existence has been erased from your life.

"why?" he said bluntly, turning his back to you.

"i don't know, mother and father arranged it," you say nonchalantly, shrugging his change in behaviour off.

turning back around, he no longer seemed as friendly as the past few days. you could see it in his eyes — there was a battle going on, and he was distraught. not that it looked like it though.

"who is he?" he mumbled, his eyes piercing your [E/C] orbs.

"tenko-kun?" you raise an eyebrow, not understanding his question.

"who is he... to you?" the male in front of you said, a fire in his eyes.

"a friend," you say firmly, challenging his sudden fit of rage. "what's it to you?"

he was about to scoff and brush you off with some cold retort but he was cut off.

beep.

you turn your head to the direction of the digitised sound. you could hear it, someone was pressing the four-digit code to your penthouse.

beep.

someone's coming. as realisation dawned on you, you pushed dabi back into the guest bedroom, pleading him to be quiet.

beep.

though reluctant, he rolled his eyes and nodded.

beep.

rushing to the door to greet the new comer make it just in time to see a pair of deep red eyes drop a bag by his feat, causing you to squeak.

"tenko-kun, you're early!"
