"Fer Thomas, fer his first anniversary! Cheers!" Captain Morgan laughed. A party was kicked off on deck.
"Do you have enough to drink?" I asked. "You gotta knife and a fork?"
"Hey! Yo, woman! Why don't ya just sit a while and stop workin'." Captain bellowed.
"Yeah, sure." I tentatively took a seat next to Eduardo.
"I heard ya work hard." Morgan grinned at his words.
"Thank you." I smiled and looked at my hands.
"She does!" Thomas exclaimed. "Delilah's cleaning and cooking is first-class!"
"Aren't we glad we didn't feed 'er t' the sharks," he teased.
"Right, and didn't I object?" Doc added in. "What a horrible thing, throwing a person into the sea."
I took a glance at Eduardo, but he was only polishing his gun. He was paying no attention to what they were all saying about me.
"Isn't it nice ya got a little girlfriend, Eduardo!" Captain laughed.
"Who wants a puny thing as a girlfriend?" He mumbled.
"Puny..." I frowned.
"Eduardo likes a sexy, busty woman, don't ya!" Thomas teased.
Sexy..Busty..I guess I'm not that...
"I don't like any type of woman." He shook his head.
"That's right! He sleeps with women just for fun." Russell raised his glass to him.
So that's all women are to him? Just fun...
"What's wrong?" He asked me.
"Nothing," I lied.
"His only love is that gun!" Russell laughed. "Ya never let anyone touch it!"
I see..His gun is really important to him, I guess.
"But its kinda funny he's a gun maniac!" Russell rattled on. "He's an elite who went to a high-class school!"
Woah, he's an elite from a fancy school? Then why'd he become a pirate...?
"Be quiet." He snapped.
"Chill! Its not likely ya gonna have a lover anyway!" He laughed and that's when I got the hint that Russell may be a little drunk.
Right, he was telling me he doesn't want any romance on the ship.
"Dude, eat and drink tonight!" The Captain bellowed loudly as the party began to liven up.
"Sorry about before.." Eduardo whispered to me.
"What?"
"Earlier in the room.."
Oh, he'd held me while he was undressed. It must've been bothering him.
"I'm sorry, too" I apologized. "I should've knocked."
"What?" I asked as he stared at me.
"No, yer smooth." He finally said.
"Huh?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Or maybe yer just simple headed." He rolled his eyes.
Simple headed... I know I'm simple but...
"Delilah, are you ok? Is Eduardo bullying you?" Doc laughed.
"Yes, he is!" I giggled.
Oops, he's glaring at me.
"I'm not nice to women like you, Doc." He stared at him.
"You're just pretending though." He chuckled.
"No," he snapped coldly. "That's my nature."
"Whatever." Doc walked away smiling.
What's the real Eduardo like....?
"So..you don't want to have a girlfriend?" I tried starting a conversation.
"Is your question worth answerin'?" He clicked his tongue.
"Because your smart and cool looking, I'd think girls don't leave you alone." I took a sip of the beer and tried to supress a grimace.
"Ya dumb?" He looked at me with annoyance.
"What?"
"Yer mind is like a flower garden, isn't it?"
I just shouldn't have said anything, all he does is make fun of me...
"I'm not interested in those things." He shrugged.
"Those things?" I queried. "You mean love? Why aren't you interested?"
"Mind yer own business," he snapped at me.
I know its none of my business, but does he have to be so unapproachable?
"What about you?" He asked, surprising me. "Wasn't there a man who didn't mind dating a little kid like you?"
"At the bar, sometimes they'd try to talk to me but..." I trailed off.
"You're not really sexy," he stated blatantly.
He doesn't hafta rub it in repeatedly...
"But, I wanna be in love with someone sometime." I smiled as I spoke.
"Hell, why?" He snorted.
"Why..." I was taken off guard by such the obvious question. "Isn't it a precious thing to love someone and be loved? I want to meet someone... with whom I can share a feeling of trust and importance."
He didn't say anything as he just stared at me, making me feel uncomfortable. I'd just shared some of my deepest thoughts, the least he could do is say something.
"Yer a virgin, aren't ya?" He said out of nowhere.
"Wha-What?!" I stuttered.
"What you said is a romantic dream of a little princess." He shook his head. "Love? Trust? HUH! I got no faith in that stuff t' begin with."
