Falling for a Pirate

Chapter 6

The next day, we came to a port off a small island.

"Its so cheerful with all the stores and the people!" I smiled and looked up to see Eduardo staring around blankly. "Eduardo?"

"Did Fuzzy go shopping?" He asked, completely ignoring me.

"Yea, she wanted to buy a dress." I looked away from him.

"Why didn't you go with her?" I felt anxiety ripple at my stomach as I realized that the way he said it was that he wanted me to go away.

He's been cold to me ever since we arrived...

"Lets go t' the bar!" Captain cheered and all the men made their way down the street with me amongst them.

As we walked through the square, I could hear everyone buzzing about in hush tones about if we were pirates and several even identified us as Sirius, much to my surprise.

Captain was flirting with a young woman and she invited us into her restauraunt. As we entered I got a good look of the whole place. Woah, its huge compared to the bar I used to work at. Eduardo shoved past me and I felt my heart sink. If its not my imagination, he hasn't even looked at me.. We were getting along yesterday, what happened..?

I sat at the bar as all of my friends did as they wished. All the waitresses and women rushed to sit by them.

"Wow, they're all so popular." I watched as they all gathered.

"These're all after our money." Nathan frowned as he sat in the seat next to me, staring off in boredom.

After money..? But Captain looks so happy holding a woman by his side...

"What's that bag?" he asked, gesturing to the burlap sack I had in my hand.

"Oh, I'm stocking up on chocolate and candies." I explained. "Captain gave me some pay."

"Some pay? Yer quite the crew member." He grinned at me.

Crew member..

"Hey! You with the bandana!" One said, meaning Nathan. "Don't ya wanna join us?"

"You with the eyepatch! Sexy and cute!" Another called and I felt jealousy bubble under my skin.

"Can I just have a water?" I looked up at the bartender and he quickly filled my order.

"Yo, go back t' the hotel." Eduardo glared at me.

"Why?" I asked, repulsed that he would try to tell me what to do.

"This ain't a place for a kid like you," he snapped at me.

"You're not the boss of me." I glared back at him, hoping to get a rise but he just shrugged it off and walked away.

"Who's gonna be my pal tonight?!" I heard Captain laugh and I started to worry.

Eduardo sleeps with women just for fun!

Is he gonna be with someone tonight?

I watched him from afar, feeling sadness well under the surface. He seems to really enjoy talking with the women. He doesn't even look my way...

"Eduardo!" I called his name in a sugary voice. "Eduardo, these nuts are really good!"

"What? These?" Russell asked and began to eat some of them but Eduardo didn't even glance my way.

I just wanted to get his attention...

"I need some fresh air," I said but mostly to myself, stepping out of the bar.
