"Tsk..What's goin' wrong with the world that I hafta have a woman in my room," he mumbled as he unlocked the door to his cabin, stepping in.
So this is where I'm going to be staying? Pretty dreary... There was no decorations or pictures or personal items. Just a bed, nightstand, and dresser."You, get in bed." He ordered and I felt panic rise in my chest.
"Be-Bed?!" I stuttered out.
"Its late. Ya got somethin' ya got t' do now?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
Are we...gonna sleep in the same bed..? I gulped and turned my back to him, hoping he wouldn't see how nervous I was.
"Ow!" I yelped. He slapped my head!
"Why you gulpin' like that?" He sneered.
"Cause..." I trailed off.
"Ya...stupid." He rolled his eyes.
"Stupid?" I tilted my head.
"Who's gonna even try t' hit on a kid like you?" He rolled his eyes.
He rolled up a blanket and set it on the floor.
"Um..er, Eduardo?" I asked.
Is he...giving up his bed for me...?
"Don't make me repeat myself. Go t' bed." He growled.
"But, you're gonna catch a cold if you sleep there..." I muttered.
"I said go t' sleep." He snapped.
He turned and showed me his back. He seems scary, but he might actually have a sweet side...
"But, I don't think its fair for me just to use your bed..." I continued but he sat straight up with his gun pointed at me.
"Didn't ya hear me?!" He yelled.
"Ok! I'll go to sleep!" I exclaimed. "I'll go to sleep!"
"Do it already!" He shouted and rolled back over.
"Yes, sir." I mumbled.
"Don't worry, I'll put ya hard t' work t'morrow."
Scary..How much work am I gonna hafta do?
"What kind of work exactly am I going to be doing?" I asked but he didn't respond. "You're the mate of the ship, right? What's it like to-"
"I'll throw ya int' the sea if ya keep talkin'" He threatened.
I shut up. He's so scary. What's my life gonna be like from now on? I'm so worried, I can't sleep...
"Get up! Yo! Kid!" I heard someone shouting in my face.
"Hm?" I blinked up at Eduardo through half-opened eyes.
"Tsk..you're still half asleep." He shook his head.
It all came back to me: the barrel, the ship, the pirates. I stared at Eduardo in a daze.
"Excuse me, but you don't look well." I blinked up at him, seeing just how pale he was and the bags under his eyes.
"You woke me up many times." He said with an edge to his voice.
"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "I did?"
"You were gnashin' yer teeth or somethin' terrible." He explained. "You fell off the bed..."
"What? Fell from the bed?" As far as I know, I'd never done such a thing.
"You made a huge sound! I jumped." He said angrily.
