"Shit! Enemy shootin' at us!" Eduardo snapped.

Shooting at us?!

"Delilah! Hold ont' me." He pulled me against his chest and wrapped his arms around my head to protect me.

"Are they pirates?!" I yelled over the sound.

"No..its an absolute disgrace t' pirates t' attack in the dark." He bent his down as another boom richoted. "Our ship's gonna sink.."

"Our ship?!" I exclaimed as I gripped tighter onto his coat.

"Delilah, stay here." He instructed as he shuffled up onto his feet and rushed to the door.

"I-I'm gonna come with you!" I argued as I stood up.

"Didn't ya hear what I said?!" He snapped. "Stay here."

"No! I'm coming with you." I continued to push.

"Don't be selfish! Do what I said!" He shouted at me.

"You need a hand, don't you?!" I yelled back.

"Dammit." He bit out. "Listen, never leave my side."

A cold rainstorm was raging on deck.

"Eduardo!" Captain called as we appeared.

"Cap, I'm gonna turn the ship and get outta fire!" He called as he made his way to the quarter deck.

"Do it!"

Everyone was shouting different things about damage and what they could see, the ship was a mess.

Eduardo shouted an order as he turned the wheel

"Son of a bitch, the waves're too rough. I can't change course." He growled as he tried to push it.

I began pushing to the left with all I had and by some miracle, the wheel began to turn.

"We changed course." He nodded.

"We'll be able to dodge the attacks now, right?" I asked hopefully.

"Not so easily.." He seemed distracted. "We're goin' back t' the deck."

We ran down the steps to find a helluva mess with barrels and ropes scattered all over.

"Watch out!" Eduardo called as he tried to protect me from the shock, but he was thrown off deck. I grabbed his hand without hesitation.

"Let go!" He glared at me.

"No way." I shook my head as I teetered over the edge.

"Dumbass, yer gonna drown if ya go down!" He shouted angrily at me over the sound of the rain.

"But-"

At that moment, another wave of shock came and threw me off the ship with him. I grabbed a broken piece of ship and pulled Eduardo up on top of it.

"Eduardo?!" I asked as I continued to cling to his hand. "Eduardo, say something!"

He's bleeding from the temple, he must've hit his head.

Its so cold...

I pushed him up onto the wood so that all of his body was out of the water and I held desperately onto him.

I can feel myself losing consciousness in the cold water...

Please..Somebody help us...

"Somebody help Eduardo.." I called weakly. "Please.."

Two days later.

"Its not good, the fever is still high." Doc shook his head as he spoke to everyone.
