All the way from Kyoto we flew to Osaka as the new emperor went back to his castle which is rooted in the city. The former imperial crown prince Jiro is now named Shintaro. Royals are allowed to change names once they inherit the crown. The Japanese emperor decided to change his' according to his liking.
No one knew exactly how Emperor Shintaro looks like.
He was a quite private personthateven his royal obligations required discretion. He was known to be the 'Kakusareta ōji' or thehiddenprince.
That's why prince Taehyung was surprised when he received an invitation from him. Our countries are both in a delicate condition due to what took place decades ago. Even though the crown princess, his mom is half Japanese/Chinese, that fact alone didn't pave way for a more tranquil relationship between our countries. I do understand why prince Taehyung was eager to comply to this invitation despite secrecy. He wants a better and peaceful future.
We reached the way secluded castle. Every commoner present, strangely bowed lower to his young Hanguk majesty, as we walked the path to the emperor's chamber. Something their people should only be doing to the imperial Japanese royal family.
The castle smelled of sophistication. Scented wood and fine people.
The empty silent hallway to the Emperor's chamber instantly gave me a sense of tranquility.

Until we reached the huge chamber with layers of doors that separates each room. The smell of scented incense filled my mind. What a very nice territory.

Once inside his chamber, the doors all closed. Prince Taehyung and I automatically darted our eyes to the curtain covered part area. We can see a silhouette of a man behind the elegant curtains. Until he had spoken;
"日本語に堪能ですか?"
(Are you fluent in Japanese)
A deep voice.
"はい、あなたの威厳"
(Yes, your majesty.)
Then there was a short silence.
"お母さんは元気ですか?"
(How is your mother.)
The prince curiously eyed me. Probably wondering why the emperor would ask about the crown princess. As the emperor did not receive a response, he chuckled.
"なぜ私が来るように頼むのか知っていますか?"
(Do you have any idea why I ask you to come?)
The prince is now frowning. He didn't like the way the emperor chuckled at his silence.

"So it's true...you took after most of your features from your mother's side. You are more Nihon than Hanguk."
Taehyung crossed his arms.
"I've got Chūgokugo blood too. My mother's side."
(Chinese)
The emperor released an amused chuckle again.
He once again said. Still, behind the curtains.
"No, we don't."
What he said brought confusion to us. Taehyung, a little aggravated clarified.
"I was talking about my mother's side, your majesty."
Chuckles.
"Precisely. You're talking about your mother's side. You're talking about us."
Shook, the Hanguk prince glared at the concealed emperor and in an upset way, he delivered in hangeul;
"What are you implying your majesty."
To our utter surprise, the curtain flipped aside...the young emperor stepped out making us both shook and speechless.
