By now, the night sky was such a welcome sight. Night gradually fell the blue haze of the day lifted to reveal the stars.
Li Qian's parents had already left the hospital before it gets dark and probably will come back tomorrow morning. While Zhao YunLan and Da Qing are both discussing something with Doctor Zhuo in her office door.
Once fifteen minutes have passed, the two Black Shield officers went out of Doctor Zhuo's office and walked side by side.
Every time they moved, the noise that'd be heard was the sound of their shoes hitting the ground as if their entire being immersed in this process. The only thing missing from the symphony was their voice. Zhao YunLan did not feel the need to open his mouth. For a long while, they didn't say anything. It wasn't as if either of them knew what to say, anyway.
Da Qing had lived long enough to not be bothered by his chief's silence.
Only talk when it's necessary...
"Chief Zhao, I will stay and guard here for the meantime, so you don't have to worry. You're probably tired and hungry as beast so you should go home and rest."
After a long silence, Da Qing finally spoke. The two of them had been walking for quite a while. There was no sign of nurse or anyone else nearby except for each other.
Zhao YunLan stopped abruptly, and looked at Da Qing with serious expression. He looked toward him with disbelief, because Zhao YunLan obviously found Da Qing's words hard to believe.
Often, this small officer would keep on nagging about why he needs to guard a corpse especially at night but now he just volunteered and even worry about himself. That's right, somehow, Da Qing and Lin Jing was alike at work.
By now, Da Qing noticed his Chief's disbelief expression and was looking at him with a curious gleam in his eyes, suddenly he felt the impulse to explain...
"Well,…it's no fun being alone with you. I'd rather be with Brother Shen than with you hee hee." Da Qing gave a playful smile. But his comment did not affect Zhao YunLan as the chief continued to walk in absolute nonchalance. Da Qing shrugged and followed after his boss friend.
He used his tongue to lick his lower lips after seeing Zhao YunLan's gaze. His mouth was going dry after seeing how Zhao YunLan looked like he had no interest at all in whatever he says. However, Zhao YunLan's mind was just in a state of chaos right now.
He patted Zhao YunLan's shoulder, bringing him back to reality.
"Hmm. This situation reminds me of the old days. Do you remember?" Da Qing asked with a sigh.
