"Did U went home Shen Wei?"
It seemed like the city only needed a single night to recover from its wounds. Other than the usually unending flow of humans moving below the tall buildings being slightly sparser than usual, everywhere else was as orderly and calm as ever. Everyone had begun their seemingly familiar yet slightly different day, once again doing what they were supposed to. The smell of merriment, desire, and indulgence permeated every block.
It was as if last night was just an unusually realistic nightmare. Zhao YunLan was so completely accustomed to the scene before him.
After the kidnapping incident last night, Huang Cheng were being interrogated in the police station after. Sadly, he only answer questions that he want to, if not, he chose to remain silent during the whole process. After settling the necessary procedures, he'd been sent into the detention cells as well.
From a procedural point of view, there were indeed no issues with this fellow since he is a former Black Shield agent. His identification papers, visas were all legal. According to his records, Huang Cheng had also experienced a hijacking case where mainland security of Beijing eventually let him go.
Unexpectedly, he became involved in such an odd incident in Dragon City.
Were he a part of kidnapping group?
That was a possibility.
Even though what he said on his statement was different from what Zhu Hong had stated on this kidnapping case. Lying was not something that went against the law. At the very least, as far as this case was concerned, lying was not a crime.
Black Shield Unit would have no issues holding him for 24 hours. The procedures needed for that could be arranged.
However… what should they go check in the 24 hours? The man had refused to cooperate with the police and the victim he killed in the Loong District is perished aready.
If Black Shield Unit were to forcefully detain this fellow for 24 hours, some nosey media might catch wind of this and use this as a piece for their breaking news.
What a pain!
These days, the cases where black and white men were gunned down had triggered a rise in public outcry in Dragon City, putting a considerably huge amount of pressure on the BSU and CIU police.
However, despite of all these cases, today's weather was unexpectedly bright and beautiful. The sun had escaped the snare of the upper continent to shine sunlight onto Dragon City. As if hurrying to not miss the few sunlit hours of the day, more and more residents surged out of their homes and began their daily activities.
One of them is Zhao YunLan..
He was smugly driving his black car on the way to the hospital to pay Shen Wei a visit. It was a far distance away from the hospital.
Zhao YunLan suddenly recalled comrades from the past while he's on his way to the hospital.
The death of every one of his comrades before. He still remembered it vaguely whenever he went to the hospital, it always resulting to him going straight to the morge with his comrade's cold body covered with white bag on display.
This is one of the reasons, why he became so aloof, so distant to those people that loved him and want to be close with him. He doesn't like the feeling of losing someone precious to him. But like why he was going to visit a comrade, Shen Wei just added to the responsibility that weighed upon Zhao YunLan's heart until now that had long since been engraved into him. If he would have to kill god knows how many criminals just to avenge past and present comrades alone, he would. If he were still the weak Zhao YunLan, there would have been a day he would become a responsibility and burden of his comrade's as well.
