Tanjiro's eyes glistened against the harsh sun rays and you were just behind me following him to both of yours mission.
"Hey, Tanjiro", you asked whilst panting.
Tanjiro turned and gave a nod.
"Are you close?"
"Yep!", he exclaimed," only 15 minutes!".
He gave a thumbs up and grinned, you deeply blushed and avoided eye contact.

It's been two years since Tanjiro and you knew each other and it was the best accident that has happened to you. You both met whilst eating at a soba competition and Tanjiro and you were competitors, it was a great time. A memory that you will always cherish.

"Aha! We're here", Tanjiro informed,"be careful though demons could be lurking anywhere".
You nodded in response and took your katana out in case of an ambush.
Tanjiro stopped and froze, confused you asked him what happened.
"There is a malevolent energy that I'm sensing....its abnormal", he stated with a stern face.
"A-abnormal?", you repeated in a confused tone.
He went in front of you with his sword out in a ready stance,"stay behind me".
"No it's fine Tanjiro"
"Y/n, I don't want you to get hurt."
"No I can protect myself", you pushed him aside and walked in front now a bit annoyed.
"Y/n! We have to stay together!", he shouted but you didn't listened and continued to walk further.
He started to run towards you,"y/n, wait!".
You sighed and turned around,"wha-".

Tanjiro's eyes widened and his eyebrows furrowed.
Right then and there you were attacked by the demon.
"Y/n!", he took a quick stance and attacked the demon but he has blocked by another.
"Damn if there's two of them!?".
His heart was racing and worried if you were fine or not, all he knew what to do was to save you and make sure you were safe.
"First style water surface slash!", Tanjiro attacked and successfully cut of the demon.s head however when he turned to see if you were there with the demon you weren't.
He sniffed to locate where you were and son enough he caught your sense...but it saps different. Something about it was off however he didn't hesitate and ran towards your direction.

"Y/n!y/n!", he shouted out and looked around then a weak voice was heard, it was you, sitting up against a tree with cuts and wounds all over you.
Tanjiro quickly ran towards you and started to panic,"damn it!", he became agitated," I should've protected you better!".
You looked weakly at him,"no Tanjiro it's not your fault...I should've been able to fight it but I wasn't even able to hit it once", you caressed his cheeks and smiled,"I like you Tanjiro Kamado".
Tears pricked his eyes and he picked you up quickly and ran to get help,"no,no,no don't die on me y/n, please not you as well!", he screamed and shouted with sadness and anger. It wasn't fair, why did he have to suffer like this again? What did he do so wrong to be punished like this? He didn't want to lose another dear person.

It had been a couple of hours and he was still calling for help and running like a frantic mad man, desperately for help. Somehow, you were still alive and breathing but unconscious.
"Don't worry y/n I'll get you to safety"

In front of him was an estate, a familiar one. The butterfly estate.
He banged the door open that awakened everyone.
"Huh?" Kanao rubbed her eyes,"what happe-"
"Please help! Y/n is severely wounded!", Tanjiro exclaimed crying with you in his arms.
Kanao gasped and ran to call for the others, after only a couple seconds later the butterfly estate helpers came to transfer you to a room.

"Is she to be alright?" Tanjiro asked nervously and with swollen eyes.
"Yes and no", Shinobu said with concern.
"W-what?"
"Well...you see it seems as though y/n has already healed".
Tanjiro smiled," so that means she's all fine right!"
Shinobu sighed,"no", she then looked at him,"s-she's a demon".
Tanjiro's heart dropped and he felt his whole body become weightless, it was as if he was dreaming. Yes dreaming, a dream that he wish he could control and never let it become reality. But it was and he couldn't do anything.

"Seriously.", he responded with an ache filled voice.
Shinobu nodded with pity.
"I'm sorry"

TIMESKIP

It was morning and we just woken up next to you Tanjiro laid with his uniform still on.
You poked his nose," Tanjiro~", you teasingly said trying to wake him up.
One of his eyes opened slowly the then the  other.
"Y/n! I'm so glad that you're still alive!", he buried his face into your neck and sobbed.
You patted his head and comforted him, letting him calm down.
"So what happened?", you asked with a gentle smile.
"Y/n..."
"Yes?"
"His should I explain it to you"
"Just say it Tanjiro"
"You're...a demon"

You tilted your head in disbelief, there is no way you were a demon!
"Stop joking Tanji-"
"I'm not y/n"
You blinked at him blankly for a couple times before looking at yourself.
Your hair was a different shade, it wasn't h/c anymore it was a peach color and your eyes were a dark red. So it is true.

"I'm sorry"
You turned to face him.
"It was my fault that you're now a demon"
You furrowed your eyebrows,"Tanjiro how many times do I have to say it is not your fault at all! It's mine for being weak and irresponsible!", you Exclaimed.
Tanjiro held your hand and cried against it.
You felt sorry for him and hugged him tightly whispering words of encouragement and comfort.
"Y/n..."
"Yes?", you replied whilst stroking his soft hair.
"I promise not only to turn Nezuko back to human but also you", he held your hands tightly and looked deeply into your eyes,"only then I will prove my worth to you and marry you".
You got flustered and blushed.
"T-Tanjiro?"
"Do you accept it?"
"Y-yes"
He smiled and kissed you in the forehead.
"I'm glad that you're here..."

Finally an update after a week! Yes I know I have t been updating recently but I can assure you I will update more frequently and also to make up for the slow updates I'll also update quick chapters like 'what they will do to propose to you' and others similar to this!
