Apocalypse

I'm outside and picking up after my dog,
she watches me and wags her tail.
She looks up at the soft rumbling noise
coming closer,
a plane.
I like watching the planes fly by,
so I look up to see.
Moving in formation,
a mass of small planes clouds the sky.
They weren't airline planes,
they were small, colorful
biplanes crossing overhead.
Suddenly, I see something moving downward.
They were dropping something from the sky.
One drops beside me and lets out a foul gas.
I cough and usher my dog back inside,
and lock the door behind me.
Thing is,
I can't hear anything,
almost like those
silent, black and white films.
I see my family talking,
but no one says anything.
We look through the windows,
the gases fog the ground,
but it seems that everyone is safe
since we're inside.
I'm with my family.
My sister,
she's crying,
my parents,
they're worried,
but my mother tries her best to comfort us.
My father tells us to not use up a lot of water,
why,
but his hunch was right,
for some reason, one of the faucets stops flowing water.
We have limited water now?
Why?
How?
We're all gathered in the living room.
My family and our pets.
We are mostly confused,
I'm calm.
I'm so calm,
but my heart feels like it's going 500 miles per hour.
Why am I so calm?
Then,
It's no longer my perspective
or is it since it's my dream.
I see the Earth and the Sun.
Earth is getting closer,
meanwhile, my vision is going red.
My family looks outside and
we see the Sun replacing the sky.
The once blue sky was replaced by a blazing,
red Sun.
But,
it wasn't hot,
you'd expect us to be burning and
sizzling up,
but we didn't feel that.
Everything felt normal,
everything looked different,
but we didn't feel any different.
Back to the Sun and Earth,
it slowly inches together.
My family and I are unbeknownst to our fate.
Slowly, but surely, our Earth is then swallowed whole by the Sun.
So quick it happened that the last thing I remember before this dream faded into black,
was my family huddled together,
I looked at them and saw how precious they were.
My sister tending to my other sister,
the eldest with her husband and son.
I saw my dog,
she only perked her ears up and tilted her head at me.
Life.
It could end in a single moment.
What would you feel?
I wouldn't know.
