To my special someone, the man I love watching the sunset with. Our fave time together. Salamat, mahal ko(thank you, my love)!
***The sun is slowly going down the horizon. It's light hit the sky showing off breathtaking hues reflected on the cold island seawater. Couples capturing it's last glow. Watching how romantic the scene could be. On cue, tourist already packing up from their long day lounging by the beach front. Perfect sunkissed tans marked their bodies. Crew from every bars and restaurants are now busy. Setting up tables, chairs and decor for their night's buffet.
"I can't see the sun anymore bezzy. We need to go home." rushing, Mia took her bag and grab both Yanne and Grace by their wrist.
Grace jerk from the grab. "Woah! You can go ahead Mia. Me and Yanne will stay here for awhile."
Uncertain of her friend's reaction she asked, "Are you sure bezzy? Who will take you home later? I can drop you home. Anyway, your houses are on the way to our hotel."
"Don't worry. We'll just grab a tricycle outside later." Grace replied.
Tricycle is a three-wheeled motor vehicle and a common transportation means in the Island of Boracay.
Mia's eyes went bigger like wanting to pop out of its socket, her jaw dropped in disbelief.
They think it's not fitting for a Perf like them to be seen riding on one of those. It's only for the Werds who can't afford the luxury of a car, for employees who earn minimum wages or below and sometimes for tourist who just want the experience riding on it.Click. The flash from Yanne's camera phone hit her eyes and she snap back.
"What was that for?" She complained.
"Look at that." Yanne passing her phone to the others and laughing at her photo.
"Bullies! Delete that this instant." She demanded.
"Loosen up Mia. It's just us and as if we're going to post it or something." Yanne said and press delete. "There! Sometimes you can be a kill joy."
"Kill joy? Maybe I'll do the same to you some other time so you'll know how to be one." Mia pretending to be pissed off.
"Hey! Do you want another drink? It's getting hot in here." MG interferred.
"We're cool. Gotcha! I'm just kidding. You're making fun of me so why not return the favor." Laughing as she splash them water from the pool.
"Ugh! You and your childish moves Mia." Grace said giving her a tongue out.
"Childish but you're enjoying it if I know. Seriously, back to the issue you aren't taking the tricycle going home right?" Mia looking concerned.
"So do you think we'll really take that ride? We're just kidding also okay? Besides, MG's resort van service can do that. Right MG?" Yanne added.
"Surely!"
"Alright, I won't insist! Really need to go home now. You know it's not good to keep your old man waiting." She said and called her driver. They accompanied her to the parking area. "Sorry to be leaving ahead bezzy and thank you for understanding."
"No worries. There's always a next time." MG answered.
"Right! See you all tomorrow at school. You two get home early." reminding Yanne and Grace before getting in her car.
"Yes Ma'am Mia." her friends teases and they all laugh.
They said their goodbyes. Her friends get back to the resort while her car was on the road in no time.
