II THE SCENTS: Lycoris Mate

As we got back, those wolves were growling madly at me for some reason that I don't want to know since I could hear them loud and clear.

'Walking like she owns this place.'

'I'm gonna kill her if it wasn't Leslie beside her.'

'What she's doing here anyway?'

'Ohho, seems like Leslie finally found a babe.'

'She's dangerous for our pack.'

Every word I hear from them I felt Leslie tense that putting her in her rage back again. I sighed before turning to her and grabbed her hand to mine.

"Don't listen to my thoughts if they're just going to put you to your rage." I said through the link we have that I still don't get why she's the only one can talk to me even though we're not totally mated.

Leslie glared at them before sighing and nodding at me then we both proceed in getting inside their house.

Once again we're in the office room and Verona was serious on reading papers while her wife Lexana was on the steel chair with tons of thick ice brick and chains around her body. I shook my head to what I'm seeing.

"Kinky punishment. Did you adopt that way from Ceres?" I asked Verona that caught her attention but instead of answering, she saw Leslie and mine are joined.

"No and seems like Ceres was right about you." Verona said that made me a bit confused until I recalled what Avery said to me on my first night here.

'Home.'

"Maybe. I just found out yesterday." I replied to Verona that made Leslie's grip tightened. I can feel she's going berserk if I don't do anything.

"Leslie Marx, I told you to calm down. I'm here." I told her through the link while I'm still looking at Verona.

"Aleksys Jade DeVera. I heard you changed your real name to that, may I know why?" Verona asked while I'm trying to calm Leslie down.

'Can I kill my Mom. She's telling me to marry you over and over again. She even told me to get laid with you or force you if you resist. She wants a grandchild. Pissed off.'

"Grandchild? You're a girl right? Well, whatever, let's talk about that later." I linked to Leslie that made her quiet like she realized that she shouldn't say things like that.

"Yes, I have to change my name since it's a new life for me that night Ceres and Frizabelle found me. They saved me from being dead. You know what I mean dead." I replied to Verona who just nodded like she was studying me but not that at all.

'Seems like Leslie found her mate.'

I sighed when I heard Verona's thoughts that made me speak to Leslie through our unexplainable link.

"Leslie, I think your mother - Verona noticed that I'm your mate since you won't let go of my hand." I told Leslie through her thoughts just to change her mood then I sneezed.

"Argh, I hate your scent!" I shouted at her that made her grip loosen up then looked at me in pain.

This is not good whenever I saw like that.

"Don't look at me like that." I told her loud and clear that made her mother Verona came closer to us but focusing only to me.

'Ceres also told me that you can read minds.'

"Argh. I'm gonna kill her for saying too much." I groaned that made Verona laughed then nodded.

"I won't stop you from doing that but since you can, can you be our hunter since we've got only four." Verona laid down the first task to me as she leaned back to her desk.
