As Verona led the way to their clinic, I suddenly felt something stir in my stomach that I really don't like at all since its making my hunger to surface. I tried to calm myself and have my control over this sudden hunger in my stomach but my eyes were not helping at all. They were turning into such hot blood color but I must keep it to myself. But as we kept walking further inside the clinic, there it hits me a very delicious scent that making my fangs wanted to show up.

'Mate...'

"I...need to breath..." I told her through our link that made Leslie held her mother to stop for a moment.

"Good gracious, what's wrong with you?" Veron asked me in such care as she turned to us.

"She's hungry. Come and follow me immediately." a very familiar voice from my old days echoed through the hall of the clinic.

I didn't see her face but her voice still rings through my memories. Leslie carried me like a bride that I don't have any will to fight back as they took me inside the room. Whoever owns this intoxicating scent really sending me overdrive and wanted to feed though I just feed the last two nights.

"Tell me honestly, since when did you full yourself?" the familiar voice asked me even though I'm getting dizzy that made me sight a little fuzzy.

"Last two night...I'm not supposed to be on the edge..." I answered honestly that made her moved closer to me.

I can tell clearly since her scent really capturing around me and almost making me lose my control. I growled deeply as I tried not to attack whoever this person next to me.

"Jade, stay with me." Leslie said with such loving voice that snapped me from losing my control and made me smile.

I don't know why but I really did reached out to touch her face.

"Don't let me go..." I horsley whispered that made Leslie smiled lovingly at me. I sighed mentally since I'm seriously going out of my mind.

"Who are you?" I asked the lady next to me.

She just smiled without looking at me as she kept studying my sudden changed but her smile really made me think of the old time.

"She's the one I've been telling you about. She's Elleah. My best friend." Verona said that made me eyes widen then looked at her.

When our eyes meet, all of my younger years with my whole family began to play in my mind. I never realized that I'm crying since this lady was indeed familiar to me. Very much familiar that I couldn't stop my tears to fall out from me.

"Jackal the shifter. My only mother, Elleah Jade D..." I said then my eyes began to be blurry then I heard something snapped within me.

My blood began to boil as everything around turn to blood - I can't see anything. I can feel my body lifted and letting my claws attack the familiar lady named Elleah. I suddenly don't have any control to my very own body. But every attack I gave were being dodged that even made me furious not until Leslie hold me from behind. She's hugging me protectively and it wasn't that tightly but it's indeed soothing one. Even though I'm starting to like being in her embrace, I began to groan since her scent was indeed getting into my nose again.

"Still hate my scent, my mate." Leslie said and it was loud enough for Elleah and Verona to hear them.

"Shut up." I groaned but still letting myself be in her arms.

I don't know why I'm not pushing her away but I slowly calmed down with her scent covering Elleah's intoxicating scent. Even though I hate it, it does the trick. When I finally collected my control over my body, I patted Leslie arm to assured her that I'm finally okay that made her let go. As she did it, I immediately went closer to Elleah to looked deeply inside of her. Looking deeply, all my old memories rushing to me even that part. I gasped seeing that memory.

"Mom..." I whispered that made her smile like the last time I saw her then she hugged me. Her hugs was indeed the same like she's been holding me before it happened.

"Why you left me with Dad?" I asked her directly that made her sighed and nodded.

"Well, it's complicated since your grandfather didn't like any jackal in their family. But he couldn't do anything since I'm protected by your father and I'm also having you. But after two years of being with you, he stepped in and forced me to be away from my both of you. The jackal lines were the fearsome beast to any wolves back then but none of them knew that they were jackals weren't capable of terrors. Only your father knew that." Elleah, my long time and biological mother explained to me.

"How you turned out to be a shifter?" I asked since that's what I remembered my father said to me.

"I'm one of the halfling creatures; I'm half Jackal and vampire. If your asking about my mate, I found her already." Elleah replied as she guessed my next question and answered it immediately.

I smiled that she finally found someone after my father's. But one thing rings to my thoughts, that a jackal shifter was indeed living under one roof with a royal blood.

"Now, it made sense." I said as I tried to link every possible reason to those stolen corpses and its thief.

"What do you mean?" Verona asked about my remarks.

"The stolen corpses that were being happening lately was a message from other jackals." I answered but they still doesn't get what I'm trying to say.

"What do you mean by that, mate?" Leslie asked me but I gave a death glare when she mentioned that word, mate.

"Well, to my understanding its their way to give warning to other jackal that need to be listen into. Jackal has their weird communication among their kind and only themselves can understand it." I explained as I looked at my mother who doesn't know anything about this one.

"Mom, have you seen the graveyard?" I asked her directly that made her eyes widen not because of the question but to what I called her.

"No, that's not my post so, we're not allowed to do that." Elleah, my mother replied that made me nodded.

"I see. Then if we look at it that way, Jackals are telling you that to be careful about something that's happening to the fallen rogues. I think those jackals who were giving such warning sense something from the fallen rogues that they've been plotting something. Something to do with a jackal shifter and the royal blood merging into one. In short they were planning on making and royal blood jackal shifter." I stated my hypothesis about their situation.

"Does it mean that they want someone that has infinite knowledge and has the ability to make everyone in the night realm bow down to their will?" Elleah guessed that made me nodded on how quick she understand my hypothesis.

"It will put the pack in danger." Verona sighed that made Elleah soothed her stressed shoulder.

"Don't worry about it. I'm a walking danger that they won't like crossing with. Plus, sharing or stealing those blood won't do any tricks. Since it's the process of being chosen one. In fact, I remember Ceres taught me something about ties." I stated that caught their attention.

"Ties?" Leslie asked as she patted the space next to her.

I sighed and sat beside her.

"Honestly, I don't know much on how it really works but the thing I remember about it, those ties were only a chosen ones can inherit. It can be from a long line of the family or from being exposed to one or simply being blessed by the Goddess herself. No one can really explain on how it happen like on how the Immortal Blood suddenly appeared. Only a chosen one can possess and use it well. If not used well, it will vanish like it never happen and those who misused it will lose everything in return." I explained that made them finally understand.

"That's shocking. Lose everything like what exactly?" Leslie asked as she leaned her head onto my shoulder which was so irritating that made me pinched her cheeks and she whined.

"Memories and powers of being a night creature. Easy to say, they'll be human that can never go back on being like they used to be." I replied flatly as I recalled what Ceres taught me about Royal ties, meaning Royal Blood.
